Looks like the Triangle is going to get whipped by the tail of the storm. At least it is moving quickly.

WCNC camera in Boone is showing major flooding on King Street at Mast General Store. Also, the eye appears to be tracking east of any model projections, but it looks like the western turn may be finally occurring.

From the National Weather Service in Raleigh:

935 am: BREAKING - A period of particularly hazardous weather with very heavy rain, possible flash flooding, wind gusts of 50 mph or more and possibly a tornado will spread north into the Triangle area between 10am and 1pm. This is the time to hunker down and stay inside.

My P.A. Said power just went out in Mountain Island Lake (north of Charlotte).

From the National Weather Service:

950 am: A band of heavy rain and with frequent gusts of 40 to 50 mph will spread across the Triad over the next few hours. The heaviest rain and strongest storms and associated threat of a tornado will be across eastern locations including Alamance, Randolph & Guilford Counties.

Things have not been as bad as I expected so far in Greensboro. But wind and rain are picking up now. Power flickered about 45 minutes ago, worried we will lose power soon.

Same here. I honestly didn't think it would be all that bad in the Triad, as the main part of the storm was projected to move a good deal west of us. It appears to have gone about a 100 miles or so east of what was projected. I just hope we don't lose power, but I'm not optimistic right now.
