My P.A. Said power just went out in Mountain Island Lake (north of Charlotte).

Several neighborhoods around Mountain Island Lake have been evacuated due to flooding. Expecting it to top out at the highest level ever recorded. I suppose a lot of that depends on how much water they are releasing through Cowens Ford dam.

My best friend in Asheville had a tree come down on his garage and split it in half. Another tree down across his driveway.

I live between Pittsboro and Chapel Hill. In a meeting so can’t hear the TV. They need to do a better job of visually showing exactly where the rotation is.

I’m in Fairview - 15 minutes east of AVL. We seem to be in a lull at the moment (10:57). No rain or wind. Just took the dogs out. Neighbor out with his dog too. Folks farther up the mountain are trapped by a fallen tree. House below me the same. Not sure whether I could exit.

The map below seems to suggest we might dodge more rain (Blue dot is AVL).




Not sure about wind. There’s a holler behind me and I can look out over it from the deck. Several trees there have gone down this morning.
