I don't think we will hear anything today - probably in the next day or two - I'm guessing they want Coach Davis to step down and are probably negotiating how that will work - also hopefully hammering out a deal with his replacement - my hope is that Coach Davis announces he's stepping down and then the replacement is announced a day or two later

The whole reason we were moving on from the HOF coach was that the HOF coach realized the world had changed around him and he was no longer the right guy to do the job. We need someone who can be a HOF-level coach in this era now.

That is probably a good a sign as anything that Hubert has already been fired.

Given the national media attention over the past 2 days, I think UNC would have made it known Hubert is returning if indeed that was the case.

The whole reason we were moving on from the HOF coach was that the HOF coach realized the world had changed around him and he was no longer the right guy to do the job. We need someone who can be a HOF-level coach in this era now.

He was hired to move the program forward, not do a shittier version of what Roy was doing. Hubert essentially resisted all facets of modernization, was bad at roster management, and got inconsistent results. All that, and he was reportedly bad at fundraising and the big donors were abandoning him. Maybe he would have been a good coach in 1998 but he certainly wasn’t now, and it’s not surprising he will be let go

Yes, agreed. I was thinking maybe the odds would increase from 1% to 2%.

In any event, it sounds like it is basically official at this point. Cancelling the radio show and Elijah removing UNC from his Insta is basically all the notification I need.
