It depends on what we see as the US strategy moving forward. If all we're going to do is lob missiles from far away, I would generally agree with you. If this requires actual US troops on the ground, we have plenty of recent experience (Iraq, Afghanistan, etc) that even a war against a country that has no real ability to "put up a fight" can be expensive and drawn out.Maybe I'm overly optimistic, but I don't see attacking Iran as an expensive, drawn out war. Iran did a little more than nothing in retaliation against Israel. There's no reason to believe they would be able to put up any kind of fight against the US.
That’s the conundrum. Lobbing missiles probably means few American deaths, but will accomplish nothing. Accomplishing something would require troops on the ground, which would be an absolute disaster. I truly think Trump thought this could be another Venezuela (the results of which are still very much up for grabs). It can’t.It depends on what we see as the US strategy moving forward. Unlike other conservative posters here Calla has made some thoughtful posts, seems to genuinely understand that Trump is a crook and a liar (although he accepts it as the price for not having a Democrat in office) and has seemed open to persuasion on a few topics. In some ways he reminded me of Krafty before he finally had his epiphany. Why? Genuinely curious.
You’re talking about a poster who is convinced in his bones that immigrants kill rape and molest in significantly disproportionate numbers, and are the driver of the nation’s ills. Setting aside the way the country is built on the backs of immigrants, his misinformation on immigrant crime is staggering.Unlike other conservative posters here Calla has made some thoughtful posts, seems to genuinely understand that Trump is crook and liar (although he accepts it as the price for not having a Democrat in office) and has seemed open to persuasion on a few topics. Needs further confirmation:
Hard to argue with that, but I'm an optimist at heart! You’re talking about a poster who is convinced in his bones that immigrants kill rape and molest in significantly disproportionate numbers, and are the driver of the nation’s ills. There’s nothing at all thoughtful about that. It’s brainwashing, sure… but it’s hateful and harmful and that will stick with him forever. Comparing him to other morally and intellectually challenged posters is lipstick on a pig.
If the price of crude oil goes up, then into whose pockets does that extra money flow? Hint: Not my pockets.I suspect Iran's navy doesn't have to physically close the strait. Just threaten and the insurance rates will go up. Those tankers will stop. But I am sure Trump has a plan for that.
Because the Iran Nuclear Deal was actually a thing, for one. Why? Genuinely curious.
The history of Israeli and US leaders constantly beating the drum that Iran is days or weeks away from a nuclear weapon yet they have never gotten there?Nah, my feelings on trump have zero influence on the world.
Didn't realize you were an expert on iran's nuclear capability and enrichment activities. Need to see some credentials before that comment can be believed.
History tells us that isn't the case.
No I mean, why would he give Calla more credit than what his posts merit.Because the Iran Nuclear Deal was actually a thing, for one.
Soooo, are we going to attack every country that tried to interfere with our elections or just the ones that supposedly interfered to stop Trump from being elected?
Ah. Makes more sense now. Apologies! No I mean, why would he give Calla more credit than what his posts merit.
If this is a reference to Krafty I find it pretty out of bounds.Comparing him to other morally and intellectually challenged posters is lipstick on a pig.
And I think Iraq, Afghanistan had Zip compared to what Iran's army isIt depends on what we see as the US strategy moving forward. You know, before it was about Iran's nuclear weapons but its pretty clear to Iran's leadership that this time Trump is coming for them. So item #1 on the Ayatollah's to do list would be to make the price of oil go up. But to your point, maybe someone should check recent option trading on oil futures. If the price of crude oil goes up, then into whose pockets does that extra money flow? Hint: Not my pockets.
