When in Rome.

Of ALL the Tweets in this thread, almost the entirety of which are anti-Israel, THIS is the one you choose to question.
I guess you also believed that the calendar they found in the basement of the hospital was a "terrorist shift schedule" lol

So you are saying this fake evidence is justification to starve a whole population? Basically, the justification that they are blocking aid is because there are bullets hidden in bags instead of food.

hook, line and sinker.

you LOVE being propagandized.
Yes, obviously:

Yes, obviously:

i mean, you have your moments. it isn't 24/7/365. maybe more like 12/5/300.

i wouldn't engage with you in any remotely friendly way if i didn't think that you had the occasional somewhat redeemable thought/viewpoint.

I didn't believe or disbelieve it. It wasn't important enough to even worry about. As it turns out, the IDF soldier thought it was something that it wasn't.

No. I've already said I think the aid should be permitted.

Why wouldn't Hamas release the hostages so that Israel would resume the aid?

RaiGuy posted a Tweet of a video claiming that there was a gender reveal event, on the part of IDF, and that reveal was done via some kind of blue explosive powder. I look at that and say to myself, for a variety of reasons, "That's fake. I thought the same about many of RaiGuy's Twitter posts, but generally don't say anything.

So, in the spirit of "turnabout is fair play", I post my own Tweet.... and here comes that pushback!

It's just funny and telling.

does it strike you as funny and telling that you have to repeatedly JCD the morality and virtue of a sovereign nation as it commits a slew of war crimes and atrocities while the rest of us point out how awful it all is and only attempt to defend the civilians who are being decimated and not the terrorist organization?

An Israeli government minister has vowed that “Gaza will be entirely destroyed” as a result of an Israeli military victory, and that its Palestinian population will “leave in great numbers to third countries”, raising fears of ethnic cleansing in the occupied territory.

The declaration on Tuesday by the finance minister, Bezalel Smotrich, came a day after Israel’s security cabinet approved a plan for Operation Gideon’s Chariots, which an Israeli official said would entail “the conquest of the Gaza Strip and the holding of the territories”.

The Israeli threats to seize control of the territory permanently has stirred global outrage.

...

Effie Defrin, Israel’s chief military spokesperson, said the planned offensive would include “moving most of the population of the Gaza Strip … to protect them”. Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, said the “population will be moved, for its own protection” in a video posted on social media, but gave no further details.

Whether or not a 'slew' of war crimes has been committed by Israel will depend on the details of individual events. RaiGuy has referenced, more than once, that IDF snipers killed women and children. On its face, that can't be labeled a war crimes, without further details, because terrorists love to use women and children in war.

All war is awful and certainly, as a civilian, having your own government using you as a human shield, while disallowing you from hiding in the tunnels that would be perfect for protection, has to be frustrating....

...or maybe it isn't because being a martyr guarantees you and your family an eternity in heaven.

Ultimately, Israel is in a no-win situation. They're fighting an enemy for whom the world has no standards while being held to basically impossible standards themselves.

UN investigators say that Israel committed and continues to commit a slew of war crimes. the current blockade/starvation campaign is textbook. destroying all of the medical facilities in gaza is textbook.

hamas sucks but israel contributes greatly to putting themselves in a no-win situation by acting like terrorists for the larger part of the past century, starting with the nakba in 1948.

Dude, you know even less about international law than domestic law. You haven't the faintest fucking idea what does or doesn't constitute a war crime. Nobody on this board is an expert in that, to my knowledge, but at least some of us have a clue.

"All" of the medical facilities have not been destroyed. The most recent one, that I'm aware of, was in April and part of the hospital was damaged. Of course, nobody cares that Hamas is using hospitals to hide in. Nor does anyone care much that IDF called ahead and told everyone to evacuate before the bombing, so that nobody was killed, besides Hamas, as a result of the bombing.

What is IDF supposed to do if they can't go after Hamas where they hide, while trying their best to limit civilian causalities? Would that not allow Hamas to operate with impunity indefinitely? They can go into Israel, murder all the civilians they want and then run back to the hospitals and churches and schools to hide, right?

Great, so if Israel is held accountable for killing children used in combat, we should expect Hamas/Gazan government to also be held accountable, right?

I'm laughing as I type that, of course....

It would be nice if Israel allowed neutral investigators in rather than have us rely on their word where Hamas is. The only proof has been given by Israel and they have been caught MULTIPLE times lying or fabricating evidence.

Is it your opinion that Hamas has been insufficiently held accountable? Really? What does that have to do with Israel's plan to ethnically cleanse Gaza? Note that the plan announced today is absolutely, 100% objectively ethnic cleansing.

"Ethnic cleansing is the systematic forced removal of ethnic, racial, or religious groups from a given area, with the intent of making the society ethnically homogeneous. Along with direct removal such as deportation or population transfer, it also includes indirect methods aimed at forced migration by coercing the victim group to flee and preventing its return, such as murder, rape, and property destruction"

How have they been held accountable by any international body?

Has Israel down any ethnic cleansing so far?

That’s simply not plausible in an active warzone. Investigators are not going to dodge bullets to conduct their investigations.
