Thanks for posting the excerpt and I read the article. Having said that, I don't agree with all of what French said. I also have lots of MAGA relatives and my hometown is filled with proud Trumpers who have been consistently flying Trump flags since 2016, even when he wasn't president. And while I don't doubt that there is some "gleeful joy" and a tribal sense of community in their attacks on libs, the anger and resentment most of these people have is also very real and very visible and vocal. They don't just attack liberals or others because they're joyful or gleeful or it gives them a sense of belonging, there is real anger and hatred mixed in as well, and some fear at what "their" country has transformed itself into over the past forty or so years. I still think the basic underlying motivation for Trumpers is anger and social and class resentments and fear, and not being happy or gleeful at just owning the libs. It's the anger and resentment that gets them out of bed in the mornings, not joy or glee.

The ginormous amount of money we spend on K-12 education (and to a lesser degree, community and four year colleges) makes the Medicaid spending look like a rounding error. We spend 3x the entire Georgia budget on just k-12 education.

Of course, there is a significant amount of that expense that is directly tied to immigration - probably more than the Medicaid expense.

Also, there is no “e” in Newsom, although I screw that one a bunch, too.
 
The problem is that the "legitimate" news media keeps shrinking by the day. The CEO of CBS News has quit because her bosses want her to go easy on Dear Leader because they're trying to negotiate a deal to sell part of their company, and they don't want Trump 2.0 to block it or slow it down. The longtime director of the famed 60 Minutes investigative news program also quit recently for the same reason. The percentage of our news media that's willing to report what's actually happening instead of backing down to Dear Leader's threats and is reliable and trustworthy is steadily shrinking, and has been for awhile. They're perfectly happy to obsess and focus on Biden, because they know that neither he, nor the former members of his administration, nor Democrats as a whole will threaten them with government agencies or try to destroy their careers as Trumpers will.

People pay more in insurance premiums because of ALL uninsured that visit emergency rooms. Maybe this country should do a better job with insurance.

But there are so many other issues with Healthcare that balloon the cost. Maybe if an entity with the resources would take a serious look at the entire industry cost could be drastically lowered. Where might we find such an entity?

But this is true for everyone without insurance, not just immigrants. Just considering the basic population numbers, I would imagine there are more uninsured citizens than immigrants. So, while it is an issue, it's not one that can be solely placed at the feet of one group of people.

Ouch. Was Scarborough lying or did he only meet Biden in the morning or did Biden take an absolute nose dive in 4 months? I really hope it was the second one. My guess is that at that point in time, Biden got a couple good hours in the morning and then as the day went on he got more tired, and more confused.
