Go back to your right wing media so they can tell you that dems want men playing women's sports.

No one, absolutely no one, can help you without YOU wanting to help yourself. It's really that easy. Just stop being a rube.

The best cure is to go to your local library. Start reading almost anything, tax law, harry potter, whatever.

For the love of god, do anything to help your brain
Did you even read my post? I said it was inaccurate.

Yes, I read it. I disagree that the dems are bad at messaging. We are in a shitstorm of gop idiocracy right now, and nothing the dems do will matter, nothing, until enough rubes feel the pain of their life decisions.

You are not a rube, but since you know what motivates rubes, you must get out there ASAP and convince a few of them to not be morons.

Godspeed

They are bad at messaging. The prisoner taxpayer funded trans-surgery ad won Trump the election. That’s insane to say but the polling is clear.

Reportedly, Bill Clinton saw that ad one time and told the Harris campaign they had to combat it asap or they would lose. They ignore him.

Bad messaging….

The article is somewhat unclear on what exactly is being restricted. It references a care team of some sort. Either way, restricting adults should be unacceptable.

Again, even taking the side against children having gender affirming surgery or saying trans men aren't men gets you automatically labeled a bigot, transphobe, etc.
This is part of your problem. You've not learned from history that the pubs will start with restrictions they can get some level of agreement on, but they never stop. Once they have their toe in the door they keep pushing until they have the door off its hinges.

They started by getting people, like you, to buy into there being a problem with 1 trans girl among millions of cis women wanting to play sports. Now they are basically working toward trying to eradicate trans people from existence. And they owe it all yo the people like you, who were so short sighted you missed the forest because of the tree.

Just look at their history. Yelling and protesting about family values while protecting pedophiles. Outraged about legislating from the bench while slowly inserting judges into the best places in order to legislate from the bench.

I'm not disputing what some Republicans would do if given the chance. I'm just saying, among other things, not supporting males in female sports doesn't make you a transphobe. Not supporting nearly irreversible surgery for teenagers also doesn't make you a transphobe. Not supporting DEi initiatives doesn't make you a bigot/racist, etc.

Biden admin was terrible at messaging their accomplishments. I'm still astonished Biden didn't announce in '23 that he would be a 1 termer: plenty of the blame lies at the feet of his inner circle.

The Dems need to pick their battles with Trump and not bite on every head fake.

Whether or not they are actually bad at messaging, the bigger problem is that right-wingers sit in their reality bubbles and construct wholly fantastical images of Dems. Then they come out with that bullshit into the media, and when the media pushes back on the idea, let's say, that kids go to school and then come home three days later with a sex change operation, the right-wingers scream "unfair! bias!" The media, being a for-profit industry, at least attempts to placate these voices somewhat and what we end up with is a sort of sanewashed disinformation system.

None of that has anything to do with Dems. Dems play no role in that narrative. The best the Dems can do is point out the lies, but people don't want to hear it. It's obvious that voters aren't moved by fact checks.

The other alternative is for Dems to play the same game. It doesn't work as well for us, though, because of asymmetries. The Pubs want people to hate government, so it serves their purposes for elected officials to be idiots and assholes. The Dems want to use government to help people, which makes the sort of intentional lying and gaslighting strategy of the Pubs a non-starter.

Which brings us to the ultimate factor: Dems will win when Pubs fuck everything up. And then, for some reason, voters forget about all the previous fuckups. Maybe this time they will remember because the demarcation line is so strong. The economy was great until now. The policies that are hurting it are the exact ones Trump brags about. Eventually everyone is going to say, fuck these tariffs and fuck everyone who foisted them on me.

But this strategy doesn't help Dems keep power after getting it. It just goes back through the wringer. The problem is that the lies should be illegal. They aren't because the Supreme Court believed that in a fair marketplace of ideas, the best ideas come out on top. Now that's been completely debunked, and I'd really like to see more attention paid to lies. Not with this Court or this Congress, of course.

There will be a political price the left pays in the mid terms for this action. Talk about being out of touch with their voters.

Don't worry by mid terms trump will have things so fucked up the blue wave will be a tsunami.

The GOP has already had to tell representatives to stop having town hall meetings because they can't explain away the crazy of president Musk and his side kick Trump. Trump voters are pissed at being laid off, at the treatment of military veterans, at the cost of food that he lied about fixing, and now we get to all enjoy the no lube fucking our retirement accounts are getting from stupid trump teriffs. He won by less than 2% it doesn't take much to push enough swing voters back to the other side.

Do you understand the concept of pretext?

lol. You clearly have no understanding of politics. There is no incentive for the Democratic Party to help the Republican Party pass any legislation whatsoever. None. The Republicans have majorities in both houses of Congress. Either get your shit passed on your own, or present legislation that features enough concessions to warrant support from the minority party. Can’t do that? Tough luck, buttercup. Kudos to those 45 Democratic Senators for not playing into the GOP’s transparently pathetic political theater.

Also, best of luck to the GOP getting people to give a shit about transgender people playing sports next year this time when we are balls deep in the worst economic recession in generations!
Yup, it's the economy stupid always works. As the trumpsters keep paying more and more and finally realize, like conservatives once did, that the consumer pays for everything, including teriffs, they will vote based purely on their buying power and forget about the culture way.

Do you understand the concept of pretext?
Yes, which is why I have, more than once, said that I want ALL Americans to have EVERY political freedom and it matters not what gender they believe they are or who they choose to do what with in the privacy of their own homes. My position is not a pretext for infringement of rights... despite how badly most of you want to make it that.

Agreed, the Democratic leadership response to all of this has been disappointing to say the least. I'm sure some will say they're playing the long game and just letting the Republicans dig their own grave, but to be honest I don't think they're capable of doing that. I think they've been mostly silent because they're as frightened and intimidated as Congressional Republicans and have no real response. A few weeks ago there was a news article about Congressional Democrats which said they had just been "overwhelmed" by Trump's EOs and publicity blitz and were still trying to work out some kind of response. How could they not have known that something like this was going to happen - it was out there for everyone to see (Project 2025, DOGE, etc.) Thank God for people like AOC and Pritzker and Chris Murphy who have been out there making some strong statements and forcefully pointing out what's going on.
This is what's so confusing. The information was readily available. They printed a 900 page fucking book, yet people ignored it.

I hope those like ramrouser love the 2% stockmarket drop so much yhat the want more, since that's what trump policies will give them.

Why does it need to be limited to their homes? Are you one of those people that don't want too see two men kids in public? Why is it any of your business? If you were really for equality, then you wouldn't add little limitations like the privacy of their own home.

nope. my comment was a play on 'keep the government out of my bedroom', though I do find any kind of PDA to be a little gross.

It's almost like the stock market never dipped during the biden years.

Well, when you use "men playing women's sports" as a cudgel, that's pretext. It's impossible for any rational person to get so upset about something that basically never happens, and when it does, does not affect their lives at all.

When you go on about men in women's sports, you're giving yourself away. if you don't intend that result, then change your position so it's not so pretextual.

They'll announce a "deal" with Canada and/or Mexico in the coming days and the market will come roaring back. Relax.

1. Suppose that's true. Then why did we go through all of this? First, the market will not come roaring back because the damage has been done. The US has lost all credibility. Nobody will ever believe -- as long as Trump is in charge at least -- that the tariffs are over. Trump can bring them back at any time.

2. What makes you think this is true? Trump is promising to expand the tariffs. He's promising to make them universal. He's going to tariff the whole world on April 2, he says. Do you think he's lying?

3. If it was all kabuki theater, why did he do it? Don't you see that as a horrible thing to do? He's created economic anxiety for tens of millions of Americans, and for what?

4. Maybe you haven't noticed, but the economy is cratering. One reason for that is the economic uncertainty. Businesses can't operate if they have no visibility into their costs, or demand for their products. People get laid off when production shutters, and re-hiring them is not so simple.

5. What will have to happen for you to admit you were wrong? What if GM and Ford go bankrupt? Will you admit then that it was all a huge fuckup? What if GDP declines by 2-3%? It seems to me that your position is "Trump can do no wrong and I'm not going to be open to the possibility that he might" and that's just ignorant and ridiculous.
