Life is still good.

Ignore all political noise and live your best life. Enjoy the things you like. Love the people you love.

It will be okay.
No it won’t. My daughters have less rights than my mother had in her younger days. They will live in a world that will be increasingly rocked by climate change. If they choose to get pregnant their lives will be in danger should there be a complication. Their education and that of their peers will be subpar. Corruption and political violence will make it impossible for them to fix their situation. If either turns out to be gay or trans they will be oppressed. It will not be ok.

The other side put their whole ass on display, and won anyway. This country is what it is, and no amount of liberal rally cries will change that. I spent 20+ years in uniform for a mirage I thought this country was. I’m truly depressed tonight and it’s not because “liberals” (which I’m not) weren’t fired up enough. 50% of this country just sucks.
I’m depressed too. My argument isn’t that liberals weren’t fired up enough, it’s that the liberal party didn’t present a strong enough economic message to break through to people who don’t follow politics like we do.

Harris’ campaign strategy was not to fire up a liberal/progressive base and drive out their support. It was kind of the opposite. They thought there would be enough suburban women who would make up for them losing working class voters who are primarily concerned with their day to day pocketbook issues. 2016 all over again and the party learned nothing.

Not really. Going on Rogan wouldn't made a difference, and she ran a good campaign. Too many people just won't vote for a woman and didn't believe that Trump will really do what he and his minions have said they will do. And if you want to argue, defend Trump's campaign over the last three weeks. Lies upon lies upon lies, and people lapped it up.
If too many people won’t vote for a woman, don’t put up a woman as the candidate without a primary. Let’s try winning the damn thing with the best possible option if Trump is really the next Hitler.

I don't get it. Harris had all the momentum, the energy, the crowds. How the hell could she still lose? This country doesn't make any sense. I don't understand how she got less votes when you would think she would get Biden's votes, you had Pubs saying they would vote for her, and you would think new voters would be in her favor, especially young women. None of this crap makes sense.
They blamed her for inflation, fox told them to fear immigrants, and they wouldn't vote for a woman of color.

Unless the people you love are gay or trans. Or need an abortion. Or are journalists. Or are advocates for women’s rights, minority/lgbtq rights, Palestine, Ukraine, etc.

Other than that, it’ll all be awesome.

Garland did act way too slow, but the "Party of Law and Order" shouldn't have blocked the 2nd impeachment and we wouldn't be where we are today.
The “party of law and order” is 100% happy with Trump winning…..it means more Federalist Society judges, young replacements for Alito and Thomas, possible replacements for the 3 Democratic appointees, and implementing Project 2025.

Do you have any idea how many people you lose when you try to fire up a liberal/progressive base? It's a lot. It's quite a lot. Now, maybe you pick up more than you lose, but you lose a TON when you move to a more liberal/progressive platform. If progressives won't turn out to support a moderate candidate that is MUCH closer to them than the alternative, why do you think moderates will turn out to support a progressive who is just as polarizing to them as the alternative?

Exactly how I feel. The message this sends is depressing. It doesn't matter if you act like a prick, lie, cheat, break the law, are a convicted felon, brag about sexually assaulting women, and even try to overthrow an election. You can still be President. Don't give me the bullshit about the economy and policies. That shouldn't even matter. There is no way in a sensible society that Trump should ever even be considered for President again no matter how bad the economy is perceived. Half of this country is just either stupid, greedy, racist, bigoted, or some combination of them all. Our country is lost right now.

They can also have a good life but it did get tougher.

98% of your world will remain the same.

Numerous people who worked inside the Trump admin tried to tell people what a threat Trump is to democracy, what an idiot he is, how immoral he is....

Half of the voting public - We know Trump better than you.
They don’t care.

How do you expect anyone to counter the misinformation machine?

The rich own all the outlets and they want their tax cuts.

Good luck with musk self dealing and rfk fucking of healthcare and killing people

Well, you're going to get your wish, as I seriously doubt that Democrats will be running a woman for president for a long time, unfortunately.

That’s naive as hell. For one thing, I’ll likely be fired and have to find a new job, or if I somehow don’t get fired I’ll probably have to resign in disgust.

IT…DIDN’T…MATTER.

There’s no different strategy that would have mattered. If she had done what you mention, it would have alienated the suburbans who didn’t like Trump. We’re so divided right now that 47% will vote for (R) to matter what

No. My world will not remain the same.

I’m dating a woman who’s an immigration attorney. Her world is about to get fucked. The world of the folks she works with and tries to help is about to get fucked. Ergo, my world is about to get fucked.

Fuck you.
