ManhattanHeel, NOG and ChrisHeel were probably the most off the wall posters I met... DC/Vince was much more chill than the retired marine/ marathon runner type I expected him to be.
Never met NOG. Met ManhattanHeel at a party I went to to meet Jumpy, Chris, SHC and a couple of others. Met DC , El P and Heelswinagain several times. Chris has been to my house along with UNCMonkey. Monks and I keep in fairly good touch and generally get together when she comes to this side of the ocean

I met MH in probably the most MH way possible... we had brunch at The Plaza. Monks and Pep were two of the posters I always thought would be most interesting to meet in person.

Never met Pep. Went to a gathering at Bailey's once where she was supposed to drop by but she had car trouble and had to call and cancel. Monks and her husband are a blast.

There used to be quite a few meetups back in the early-2000s. I remember DMLHeel would frequently post where he was about to eat lunch to see if anyone wanted it me up with him. There were also meetups to play in pickup basketball games.

I am sorry I didn’t attend some of the bigger meetups surrounding events like the Bob Gibbons tournament, etc.

There were a lot more meetups before most of the women left the ZZL... don't know if women were the driving force for meetups, or if the men folk just sucked at organizing things... but it seemed like the two things correlated.

Finesse came over to my house outside of Mebane back in the day to talk about some built in shelves. He didn't run away screaming, I guess that makes me relatively normal.

I was just thinking of that and recalling that the first time we met was at TOTH when the people from Wenchfest came back.

The age old Internet forum question lol. Over the years I see people on IC talk about how they sometimes do meetups for tailgates, etc. On the one hand I would be curious to meet some of the more “out there” posters just to see what they are actually like in real life, but at the end of the day I prefer the anonymity of these forums.
I would love to meet people here, but I'm sure as the date approached, I would grow self-conscious and find a reason to not make it.

Lack of social skills is my superpower.

I would love to meet BBFan someday.

She was very helpful at a time when I really needed it.

I find this thread interesting. I'm obviously not a parent so I can't say for certain what I would or wouldn't do. However, I can say that I was spanked and it was needed. To say I was stubborn and willful would be the most grand understatement of all time. I simply didn't respond to anything other than physical punishment as a young child.

Did you know what you did wrong and why you were spanked?

One thing I have always made sure of, no matter the punishment, my children knew why they were punished. We also made it very clear that the punishment was for the action and making a mistake didn't mean that they were bad people.

This was because I recall being punished as a child when I truly didn't know what I had done wrong.

The mention of NewOldGuy….

That theatre script he put together about Duke assistant coaches going out recruiting was just incredible. One of the funniest things I’ve ever read.

Pep was terrific.

How’s kik84?

Anyone recall fungo from TarHeelTalk?

Brownie?
