Roll Call: Who is voting early? Who is waiting til Nov. 5 (and why?)

I was just being coy... "the word on the street" was my lame way of saying that I looked at the data as it now stands. And that shows the majority of those votes cast in NC were by Dems… with Indy voting close behind pub votes.

Also, the "my guy" who "is an optimist" is me... Just me being lame again.
The pissin on the cornflakes jab was just me being an arseling.
I knew what you meant. No offense taken. I was ribbing you a little and you returned the favor. But for the record, I've been eating Corn Flakes for like 40 years. Would never piss on them.

I voted on Thursday. Lots of MAGA in the building. I was walking behind this old timer on the way out and I heard him say, "I was gonna wear my Trump hat too, but I didn't want to start something and have to slap somebody." He was saying that because a couple other old timers were proudly rocking their Trump hats while voting. I live in WNC so this didn't come as a surprise to me. For what it's worth there are way less Trump yard signs this time around and pretty much no flags. I am very pessimistic about how this is all going to play out. I hope Harris wins, but if I was forced to bet money on it I'd put it on that fucking traitor to win. These next couple weeks are going to seem like an eternity. Fuck Trump.
Unfortunately, this won't be over in a couple of weeks if Kamala wins.

Snapped a picture of my favorite sign so far this election season. There are a couple dozen political signs at this intersection, even a Mo Green sign (seen in the background of the photo). I feel like someone saw all the signs and was like "eff it, I'm making my voice heard too" and threw this bad boy together real quick.

I have said there should have been signs made that said Harris prosecuted criminals and Trump is a criminal. They should be up everywhere!

If I remember correctly there are more registered “Indies” in NC than Rep or Dem. Makes figuring out who’s doing what kind of difficult, but I for one am one of those indies and I’ve voted straight Dem since 2016 I think.

Perhaps already posted above but just in case not….

Think link has real time information about how long the wait times are at every Wake County early voting site….

Very helpful for me since I have 3 different locations all about equidistant from me.

Funny i was just about to post this same thing!
It was helpful for me, and i've been keeping an eye. It feels like slowest times are tween 9 and 10am.

I thought about voting early today because I have the day off work, but the locations closest to me all have 1-2 hour waits currently. I can go to my local polling place on Election Day and be in and out quickly, and I also enjoy the vibes of voting on Election Day. I’m likely going to pass on voting today unless those wait times come down….

I assume lunch hour will be busy but I’m hoping maybe 2-3pm will be a window of time where it slows down.

It has been interesting to watch. There are a handful of places currently with 2+ hrs! The waits today look longer than what I saw over the weekend.

I went to vote just now and couldn’t even get in the parking lot — traffic was backed up into the street and the line at the polling place was out the door and out of sight down the hill. Will probably try an early morning time tomorrow or later this week.

This is a Trump +46 county (in 2020). Forrest was +40 over Cooper that year. There were more than 62,000 registered voters then and they voted at an 80% clip in 2020. We are up to just under 68,000 registered voters this cycle but that is as reported at the beginning of the year (honestly surprised it is not more — growth in this area has seemed explosive).

What county?
And given that the GOP is really pushing early voting (finally? Took them long enough) it is not surprising. The whole "GOP wave on election day" is dead and gone.
