“… The Kremlin said Monday’s strikes were a response to Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory, which Moscow said involved dozens of drones over the weekend. Ukrainian officials said the strikes damaged several Russian military-industrial facilities, including a factory that makes parts for ballistic missiles.

Russia’s Defense Ministry said its own overnight salvo against Ukraine struck an air base in a central region of the country as well as other military objects in several regions.

I remember thinking when Trump and Vance were dressing him down in front of the media (a punk move if there ever was one) “If he asked both of them to step outside; he would have been the only one to come back to the room and he wouldn’t have had a mark on him.”

[seems like credulous reporting — Mr. Vlad Stop! has yet to demonstrate he will actually do anything meaningful to pressure Russia unless Congress forces him to do so and as noted above seem to be claiming credit for running interference for Putin and Russia in the past]

I mean, they are a murderous kleptocracy that deserves zero credit for much of anything, but RT is not wrong about Trump’s history of erratic threats with little to no follow-up in this case.

I have been puzzled by Putin's inability to handle Trump better then he is. But I'm beginning to think Putin think's Trump is so messed up that he's more trouble then he's worth. Putin handles these types every day. The Korean nut comes to mind.

I think Putin is handling Trump just fine for what Putin is trying to accomplish. Putin would probably rather Trump be a little quieter about their relationship, and so some of the war of words here is probably for show.

The reality is that Russia has continued to wage war with impunity, and that will remain true unless and until the Europeans do something. So Putin is getting what he wants.
