He be didn’t even base these tariffs on the tariffs anyone is charging us. The tariffs were determined by our relative trade deficit with the country. It was a completely nonsensical calculation and in no way actually reciprocal.
 
It’s hard to overstate how catastrophically bad this path will be for the United States. It will be the end of this country as we know it.
 
When you look at the easy formula, and the inclusion of non-countries, do you get the sense that the whole tariff plan was made by Grok or whatever Elon calls his chatgpt ripoff?

Serious question.

I don't know but if they are going to pay obeisance to it, shouldn't it be Sinai or Burning Bush or such?

In 2022, India exported 80 billion in goods to the USA...it's largest export partner (about 17.5% of all of its exports). So, 27% tariffs will likely cause a recession to India's economy.

Long term the rest of the world will probably, gradually switch to efficient electric cars made by China, Japan, etc. and Europe, while most Americans thanks to tariffs and other trade barriers will keep driving gasoline powered cars, unless they have the money to buy electric cars. And all because of the obsession of many Americans with living in the past and wallowing in nostalgia for their lost youth.

There seems to be a lack of pithy comments from the MAGA crowd about how our concerns over the stock market are overblown.
We need a “where are they now?” thread.
 
So when will the fate of Trump's tax cuts be decided? I ask, because its obvious that Trump's primary intent is to lock in revenue projections from tariffs to offset his cuts.
