TV Streaming series to talk about.

Watched the first 2 parts of this documentary sorry last night. Holy crap there are a lot of people that need to be locked up for a long time.

I REALLY enjoyed the Decameron on Netflix. It didn't hurt that I found a 1955 edition of the book at a local garage sale early this summer, but that's not what I really liked about it (only very loosely based on the book, mostly just the premise). I loved the character arcs for each character as the series progressed. It starts out witty and entertaining, but the real depth of each character is only slowly revealed as the series progresses. Some characters you start out hating you love by the end and vice versa. It's a real ride. The soundtrack is great too.

ETA: Also, the competition for the Emmy for costume design is over for next year (and maybe set design too, for that matter).

That looks interesting.

Have to add it to the list as I've got too many inflight right now.

And my daugher just told me there is a new season of British baking show starting today. 😁

The graphic designer did a great job with the title card there. I'm enraged. I have no idea what this is about, but I'm pretty sure it's going to be enraging.

1 episode left of the season for Bad Monkey

Can't figure out how it's going to end... And to have a second season. I would hate to lose some of the characters if there's a new story next year but the book ended soon after this episode

Eve is an absolutely awesome villain

Haven’t watched it yet. Is there a Skink sighting?

Don't get that. But it's a great show
Skink is the feral ex-governor of Florida who lives in the swamp and eats roadkill. He has bigger or smaller roles, but always (or almost always) at least makes a cameo in Hiaasan books.

At least I think he’s called Skink, I’ve read a lot of Hiaasan, but it’s been awhile.

I’ve been loving the show, but the last episode that came out was a little disappointing.

SPOILERS BELOW

It didn’t make any sense that Yancy encouraged Rosa to go ahead and get on the plane with Nick and Eve. There’s no way that the Yancy have come to know would have put her in that very unsafe position. Also, Nick’s hesitation to shoot Yancy didn’t make any sense. Nothing’s held him back before.

The newest episode of Only Murders in the Building was immensely creative television.

The hesitation made sense... Eve said stop because of the dog. He does whatever she says. Then the stuff about his daughter got to him because that's his weakness.

But completely agree on him letting Rosa go to fly back with Nick and Eve. Ummm no. How about "I will meet you there"

I'm behind a season, so not able to speak to that episode, but I've been impressed at their willingness to take some chances and do some creative stuff (like the episode in season 1 with the single word of spoken of dialog).

With such a star studded cast and what's turned into such a valuable franchise, you'd think there would be a lot of pull to play it safe. Kudos to them.

The dog is tiny. He could have shot him in the leg or somewhere else to get him to drop the dog. The dog would have been fine. And I’m sure Eve would have recognized that but for the writing of that particular scene. But even before that, Nick was about to shoot him on the bed before Eve stopped him. If he was ready to shoot him then, why didn’t he shoot him when he first saw him, before Ever even came into the room? It was the classic case of the villain taking too long to kill the hero, giving the hero time to escape.

I think - and you are not wrong - but they have been showing the bad deeds are weighing on Nick a bit. But yeah villains always have to move slow. I am counting on that in my life when I find a masked murderer.
