Sorry, got my resting bitch face on today, I guess.Sorry, I was trying to make a joke about Maine's situational love for Duke and not Mrs. Flagg's appearance, but my apologies if that went awry!

Absolutely. Especially ifits obnoxious when people flog young women about smiling more but when you're a public figure it will definitely help your image.
To be clear, I'm not offering any general criticism of RBF. I'm not even criticizing Jordon for it because I don't know her and have no idea what she's like in private. i also agree that "smile more" is usually more a form of condescension and rationalization than actual advice.Setting aside the entire football saga, and not to derail the thread, but it is clearly not well understood (or understood and intended) how tiresome it is for women to be critiqued for “resting bitch face” and not smiling enough. I mean fucking look at Belichick’ resting bulldog face. But that’s manly, I guess. Way too many men have what I’ll charitably call resting leer face.
Years ago, a partner of mine called to express his deeply felt disgrace that our shared client had cursed extensively in a meeting I was attending. He had never heard this client speak that way around a woman and couldn’t believe the client would speak that way with me present. I told him I appreciated the consideration but (a) nothing I haven’t heard before and (b) much better for me that my client think of me a his lawyer around whom he in comfortable cursing at length than as a woman.
So it’s a multi-edged sword. Smile to be aesthetically pleasing, to “light up a room”, to put others at ease. Don’t smile too much or you seem frivolous or stupid. Don’t smile enough and you’re a bitch.
Everyone assumes that Belichick is a man among men football coach but also a victim of his own age and libido, great enough to be the best football coach ever by weak enough to be taken advantage of by a young gold digger.
And she would’ve gotten away with it, too, if only she would just smile a little more often.
To be clear, I don't think of BB as a victim. He's making his own choices. If he's being manipulated, it's because he's letting it happen.Everyone assumes that Belichick is a man among men football coach but also a victim of his own age and libido, great enough to be the best football coach ever by weak enough to be taken advantage of by a young gold digger.
Now that’s a proper fucking poast.Setting aside the entire football saga, and not to derail the thread, but it is clearly not well understood (or understood and intended) how tiresome it is for women to be critiqued for “resting bitch face” and not smiling enough. And Bill Maher tonight. So, SNL, John Oliver, Bill Maher in a week, and I’m pretty sure Kimmel and Seth and Colbert probably had a joke, too.And John Oliver tonight. He's going for the comedy equivalent of the full Ginsburg.
nycfan and my daughter are very nicely trying to clue us men on what they deal with on an hourly basis while we men just assume they are "just like us" yet new research and evidence based studies show just how effed up the predominant paradigm is. On my daughter's recommendation I will be starting this book tomorrow:Now that’s a proper fucking poast.
It's just misogyny. The fact that in the age of Trump and multiple wars in the ME and Europe the media is absolutely fixated on a relationship between two consenting adults is telling. This is a non-story. Part of me thinks that the rest of the ACC and SEC are absolutely terrified about what Bill can build here and are doing everything in their power to push this "story".
I don't get this at all. Of all the photos I've seen I haven't thought once about a lack of smile. At the same time, it really doesn't help anyone that she looks manipulative.
No, because the folks obsessed with this matter are sexist. They were already leaning toward freaked-out over the emails cc'ing, hard knocks, and some spring game microphone-fixing. They're assuming she's the master-mind and that 400-page-bible-Bill is now feeble and brainwashed, based only on her youth and how she dresses. The only thing that would change their perception is her age or simply being a man.True or false: during the question of how did they meet, if Jordon had been smiling, tilted her head a little and said, "no", the reaction in the media (and among the fan base) would be considerably muted?
Some blame should be put on the people who love and consume sensationalized, tabloid-esque drama. My issue with this whole ordeal isn't with Jordan Hudson. Not one bit, in fact. My problem is 100% with Bill Belichick.
I don't care whether Hudson is a gold digger or clout chaser or celebrity chaser or if she's madly in love. Sincerely good for her either way, and I wish her well. I also don't care that there is a five decade delta between the two of them. It might be cringey and it might be weird, but it ultimately isn't my business. Love who you love, date who you wanna date, IMO.
I place 100% of the blame on Belichick for, apparently, being completely full of shit on being Mr. "Hard ass, consumed fully by football, no nonsense, eliminate distractions at all costs, keep the main thing the main thing always." There isn't a snowball's chances in the most superficial depths of hell that this would have happened to 2000-2023 New England Patriots Bill Belichick. He wouldn't even let the greatest QB of all time- the guy more singularly responsible for Belichick's own career success than even Belichick himself- bring his trainer in the Pats facility.
We always used to say of Mack Brown's program, "you get exactly what you tolerate." Well, Bill is getting exactly what he is allowing and tolerating. It is completely on him 100%, not on Jordon Hudson.
We've become a reality-show addicted nation that watches fake, often scripted "reality" crap on television that consistently plays to the lowest common denominator of humanity, elects reality-show stars as president and makes scandal-ridden, shallow celebrities, TV news talking heads, and social media influencers cabinet secretaries and federal department heads, and watches "news" networks that focus on the trivial and superficial at the expense of real news. It really shouldn't be all that surprising that we're in the mess we're in right now. Some blame should be put on the people who love and consume sensationalized, tabloid-esque drama.
there is no shortage of coverage of Trump, the Middle East, the brewing tension between India and Pakistan, or European conflicts, and the "media" that is covering BB and Jordon is almost unilaterally not the media you go to for the former. just an absurd thing to say; i expect this from the IC football boards, not here. the acc/sec conspiracy is just icing.
I just searched her on google images.I don't get this at all. Of all the photos I've seen I haven't thought once about a lack of smile.
What's a "manipulative" look? I'm trying to picture the hot, young, brunette version of Dr Evil, but I'm can't picture that.
Are you only viewing photos on TMZ or something tabloid?
As are the viewers at Fox News. Relatedly, Fox News gives those sexists blond bimbos who smile excessively. I'm not blaming anyone for anything in simply observing that the young woman in question here seems untrained in PR.No, because the folks obsessed with this matter are sexist.
