The ACC coach's conference starts Tuesday at Amelia Island. If Jordan shows, she will garner almost 100% of the coverage. For this reason, I hope she skips the trip or just hangs by the pool.

Is it really bullshit, though? Everyone's rubber necking, but it's entirely unclear to me if the car on the side of the road is on fire or the driver just stopped for rest. I mean, we got a legendary football coach. Who cares about his fling? She's made herself visible, which is perhaps not great for some people in the program but it doesn't have to be a source of embarassment.

I wonder if the hand-wringing says more about the UNC fanbase than it does about BB or UNC athletics
Bellichick is so high profile the NFL media(especially in NY and Boston) are paying attention to what he is up to and are really stirring the pot.

the drama. i feel certain that torre has legit sources and didn't make that ish up.

UNC not going to confirm it because it sounds awful but i'm guessing there have been internal discussions about her backing off / chilling out.

She'll get at least 50% of the coverage just hanging by the pool.

I think Jordon has two things going against her, quite independent of her behavior (which I don't know much about):

1. She has a godawful case of RBF -- RBF, of course, being one of the worse physical qualities for a young woman trying to make her way.
2. She compounds #1 with a weird unwillingness to smile. I thought, oh surely she smiles sometimes and the media is just focusing on the ones that make her look bitchy. Well, google her images and there are still few smiling pics. Not even the glamour photo shots.

So she basically always looks like she's scheming or showing off her beauty. And maybe that's why she rubs people the wrong way. People always suspect the May-December romances as being transactional and her personal style seems to reinforce rather than dispel that suspicion.

I don't know much about young ambitious trophy wives, but it seems to me that the most successful of them make sure never to upstage their men. That's the deal, right? The woman gets to live like a queen and will end up with big $$ even after the marriage is done (esp. if there's child support); in public, she's supposed to be an ornament. I was reading about Nicole Shanahan after RFK selected her. She did it right. She fucked half of Silicon Valley until she landed Brin; then she stayed anonymous for a little while and nobody ever heard of her. After the divorce, after she got billions, then she emerged.

Jordon looks impatient, in contrast. That is, she makes it look too obvious. Which would be a shame if that wasn't her motivation at all. I generally think it's a bad idea to judge people based on a couple of news stories and some photos, no matter how cringey they might be. Maybe she is who she appears to be. But if not, she needs to recalibrate her strategies.
RBF?

UNC statement…”Belichick confirms he is in a professional relationship with his 24-year-old significant other”. My bet is that the profession has nothing to do with football. Who cares! Just let the old fart enjoy one final Viagra fling in his sunset.

The point is that Belichick himself is all about zero distractions off the field. One of his first chapters in this new book is entirely dedicated to this idea, so it’s pretty funny that an interview about said book is really what set this whole situation off in the first place lol.

To be clear, I’m still in the camp that this story will ultimately just be a funny footnote if Belichick actually makes it work on the field. It’s still a very bizarre story, in part because it’s so out of character for Belichick in the first place to let something like this happen.

God almighty, man. 7-5 ain't worth all of this bullshit.
Year 2 is the important measuring stick.

But, yeah, if we're 7-5 in year 2, then this will not have been worth it. But I'm sincerely hoping that we'll be far better than that.

I don't think you're wrong necessarily that year 2 is the important measuring stick, but I think that there is a lot more weight and importance on year 1 than a lot of our fans seem to think. We have a 73 year old head coach who realistically has, what, 3? 4? years or so if we're lucky? We don't really have time to waste, and the best way that we can set up a strong year 2 is by having a strong year 1, which then theoretically leads to a stronger transfer portal haul next offseason. Without a strong year 1, perhaps the transfer portal isn't as lucrative for us next year, and then year 2 is more of the same old same old Carolina football 8-4 mediocrity. If we're 7-5/8-4 in year 1 and that leads to a lesser transfer portal haul next offseason which leads to another 7-5/8-4 under a 75-year-old head coach, I'm not sure UNC is getting its money's worth.

My belief is that if the University and the donors are truly willing to invest the kind of money that they appear to have invested in the football program in order to sign Belichick, we'd be better served throwing that money, sooner rather than later, at a proven, younger FBS P4 head coach. If we are truly willing to spend $10 million on the head coach position, and truly willing to spend tens of millions more on assistant coaching and support staffs, then there ain't too many P4 coaches out there- save for maybe a small handful- who wouldn't be willing to come to UNC.

What my concern has been, and continues to be, is that we get Belichick for a year or so, and then we get.....Steve Belichick or Freddie Kitchens.

Setting aside the entire football saga, and not to derail the thread, but it is clearly not well understood (or understood and intended) how tiresome it is for women to be critiqued for “resting bitch face” and not smiling enough. I mean fucking look at Belichick’ resting bulldog face. But that’s manly, I guess. Way too many men have what I’ll charitably call resting leer face.

Years ago, a partner of mine called to express his deeply felt disgrace that our shared client had cursed extensively in a meeting I was attending. He had never heard this client speak that way around a woman and couldn’t believe the client would speak that way with me present. I told him I appreciated the consideration but (a) nothing I haven’t heard before and (b) much better for me that my client think of me a his lawyer around whom he in comfortable cursing at length than as a woman.

So it’s a multi-edged sword. Smile to be aesthetically pleasing, to “light up a room”, to put others at ease. Don’t smile too much or you seem frivolous or stupid. Don’t smile enough and you’re a bitch.

Everyone assumes that Belichick is a man among men football coach but also a victim of his own age and libido, great enough to be the best football coach ever by weak enough to be taken advantage of by a young gold digger.

And she would’ve gotten away with it, too, if only she would just smile a little more often.
