There are people on here who seem bothered if people defend BB, players or point out positives. Kinda works both ways.

In fact, when we took a knee at midfield on fourth down in the opening game against South Carolina in Charlotte in 2019 that gave them a decent chance at beating us on a Hail Mary, I was about ready to fire him after game one.

I remember in 2023 we he took a timeout before a 2pt conversion (to bring it from 11 to 9 i think) in a noble effort to be analytical but clearly not understanding things) in the 4th quarter of a “comeback” attempt against Clemson and it was maybe the maddest i’ve ever been

That's just not true, man, and you know that. You and others have been allowed to defend BB and point out positives to your heart's content. Hell, I've even made it a point to laud y'all for it, multiple times. Nobody is keeping you from defending or pointing out positives. The problem is, you seem to believe that someone providing rebuttal or disagreement with your defense of BB or pointing out positives is attacking you personally, and it's just not true.

hahaha I remember that one, that provided a hilarious GIF of Mack and Sparky feverishly flipping through a giant three ring binder on the sideline looking completely lost.

I didn't say anyone stopped me from anything. Just a few posts ago I posted positive news on recruiting and first response was good for next coach. That is fine. No biggie. But the narrative of this board is very negative. Just us. It is basically the same as IC in reverse. Do they have a zoo view?

The team's record is 4-7. Just how positive can you reasonably expect poasters to be given that?

I'm sure that edit was probably intended as snark and sarcasm, but I don't need to be "thanked" for "allowing" you to do anything. I don't own this board. And in fact, not only that, but I genuinely appreciate that people like you, @gregh1 and @stankeylegjones are on this thread providing perspectives and opinions alternative to mine. That's what I love the most about this community- that it's full of really smart people who push and challenge one another mostly thoughtfully and respectfully. I am just trying to help you see that disagreement with your *viewpoint* isn't disagreement with your *person*.

Mack had the recruiting part of the sport down to a science, but even at his peak he was never exactly a wizard on the sidelines during the game.

He was so unbelievably bad at game management during his second stint here that all you could do was laugh. A national CFB podcast that I listen to would always use him as a reference point whenever a coach would make a poor decision to cost his team the game or blow it against a vastly inferior opponent lol.

I think most of us agree that we got to recruit our way out of this regardless of who the coach is. I am not happy with on field results. I think I understand the why's of it and that does not absolve the staff. Again, predictions on here a month ago was this class would fall apart. It has not. So I see that as positive. It is clear that BB will coach next year unless as many said before season he would bolt for NFL and now say that opportunity does not exist. I am of the belief BB wants to build a program here and I will cheer for that while acknowledging missteps.

Gotcha. I didn't see that. I can only speak for myself so I guess I should rephrase and say that *my* disagreement with your stance on anything isn't disagreement with your person, and truly if it ever feels like it is, please don't hesitate to point it out and let me know. I mean that. I'm always hoping to improve the way that I communicate with people.

whats so positive about an average unc recruiting class? i couldnt care less about quantity....quality only matters and the quantity of this class is no different than previou unc classes which have lead to nothing but a bunch of wins over cupcake city the past 20 yrs

Mack was bad at game management (the 4th down knee in his first game - ugh) but Mario Cristobal owns that title hands down. Mack never failed to take a knee and cost his team a game.

Hold on a minute. When have I ever called you mentally ill? Because I am the one who asked that question and I asked it genuinely with no malice at all. The way you were posting about Belichick and Jordon makes it seem you dont have much experience navigating relationships.
 
Don’t feel good about. Really hoping for a competitive game. But for a prediction I’ll say 28-13 state.
