Any reason Lubin only got 8 minutes?
Tyson ate his minutes. Looks like he’s finding his feet, although still shooting like Justin Pierce. But with Withers subpar BB IQ there is PT to be had.

D was super active and we ran really well on the break. Elliott and Trimble looking really good. RJ less so - stiff arming shots and inefficient, but the ball keeps moving so that’s good.

So glad Corey got to tell that riveting story about Bill Walton telling him to keep his beard.
Corey only talks about Corey. How many times did he have to tell us about his visits to Hawaii?

Guess what Corey, no one fucking cares. No once cares about your guy, or your experiences, or anything other than the game.

Why do we keep getting stuck with Corey?

This clip of EC's incredible hustle play ought to be sent to every current AAU basketball player.
I held my breath thinking of a great block by another Carolina PG in another holiday tournament that ended in an injury that cost him a lot of games. [Cole Anthony in Battle 4 Atlantis]

Interesting game, pretty amazing that we won.

I'm glad I knew going in the final score or my anxiety would have sky rocketed.

2 of EC's fouls were stupid. No one gets called for diving on the floor like that.

Corey really takes away from the game. I had to mute the second half.

I sort of long for the old days with players, when they stayed around. I'd love to see EC, Jackson, Powell, Brown, and others stay around 3 to 4 years and fully develop.

Lots of people get called for diving on the floor like that. In fact, EC got called for that foul TWICE last year, and he still hasn't learned. You can't just flail your body on the floor into the legs of another player touching the ball. That is not hustle. It is dangerous and stupid, and it is why Coach Paige was giving him an earful on the bench. EC was playing out of control at that stage of the game. He sometimes goes mental when calls go against him and it takes him out of his game. You just can't do stupid things like that when you have three fouls and your team is trailing by 20.

Disagree, EC was all on the ball before he touched the other player. It was a 50-50 play and there was no foul.

That was a great hustle play by EC. Just wish he would stop flopping like a dookie almost every time he drives to the hoop

I disagree. A ball on the floor is equal to both teams. Both players were going for the ball.

I've seen tons of plays like that over the years where there probably should have been a foul. Players on top of the other players and no call.

You guys both need your eyes checked. No way no how can Cadeau go for that ball in that situation with three fouls. It was a terrible, terrible play by him. The Dayton player had his hands on the ball and Cadeau dives at the guys legs -- a dangerous play and one that will be very likely to draw a foul call.

Looks like nobody stayed up to watch our game. I didn't either but it looks like it went about the way I thought it would. After last night that marks the third time this season we have fallen behind by at least 18 points in a game. The good news is we came back in two of those and won one of them. This is an obviously flawed team, we all knew that after the absolute failure to secure a big man in the portal. And it will be the downfall of the team. We play an always tough Michigan State team tonight and then host our kryptonite Alabama next week. We also have games against ranked Florida and UCLA in the next month. We've got to win at least a couple of them, ideally against the ranked teams. Because the ACC looks like hot garbage right now and we better hope stacking wins against the crappy conference leads to a decent seed in the tournament.

I did stay up and watch it. The refs let them play a very rough physical game and they got off to a blistering start. We could never quite get into our flow. RJ is still not quite in form and our offense is not flowing well.

The two games we lost were to two of the best teams in the country and had two of the best big men in the country. I'm not scared yet.

I think our lack of height finally caught up with us last night, as did our habit of slow starts. It's hard to come all the way back against a deep, athletic team like Auburn. Having said that, I thought our chances last night were not great, mainly because just one day before we managed to dig deep and come back from an 18-point halftime deficit, and that takes a lot out of a team. It doesn't surprise me that we didn't seem to have the same energy and competitiveness that we did the night before. Hopefully we still have something left in the tank for Michigan State. At least this grind is good preparation for the NCAA tournament, and I still think that overall we're in good shape.

And for what it's worth, I ventured over to the IC free basketball board after the game and was not surprised at the overwhelming negativity. There was even a "UNC" poster (and obvious dookie troll, imo) who pointed out yet again that we're becoming Indiana or UCLA. And comparisons between our football and basketball programs both being poorly coached and going downhill. No mention, of course, of our great comeback the night before against Dayton. That board is simply filled with chicken littles - even when we win they're miserable and hate Hubert. LOL.

I don’t consider myself a Hubert hater, but man, his teams have a penchant for just not showing up ready to play and falling way behind early. Sometimes we get it together and still win (Dayton), sometimes we claw back, still fall short, but make it look respectable (KU), and other times we just get totally blown out.
