I don't think it's just being negative. It's seeing things for how they really are. There’s no pay off in constantly being negative.

That you think it's negative to point out the troubling aspect of the current program is telling. There’s no pay off in constantly being negative.
I don't think its an NIL issue. HD has matched offers for many targets. They, for whatever reason, don't want to come here.
They’ve been very competitive against some of the best teams in the country and haven’t quit at any point. That you think it's negative to point out the troubling aspect of the current program is telling.
But, okay, let's stay positive. What positives have you taken away from HD/team this year?
Some, yourself included, are consistently negative, even with great teams and HOF coaches.I don't think it's just being negative. It's seeing things for how they really are.
I had no idea about that. Thanks for the link! This isn’t 1978. Running sprints because some player utters a curse word in a moment of frustration during practice might not be the sort of environment today’s young players choose to play in. Maybe kids today aren’t offended by words they hear in their music, on TV, from their friends and in their homes and don’t think it is the coach’s place to police their vocabulary. Maybe this coach just isn’t in tune with young people today.
Then what's causing them to come out flat, in all of those games? They’ve been very competitive against some of the best teams in the country and haven’t quit at any point.
More than that though, this is my team I’m going to hold out hope and believe things will get better until the bitter end.
Against all evidence, well, that just makes you dumb and stubborn. They’ve been very competitive against some of the best teams in the country and haven’t quit at any point.

I’m not dumb.Against all evidence, well, that just makes you dumb and stubborn.
It should be okay for us to have at least one blind optimist here. Then what's causing them to come out flat, in all of those games?
I'm not giving up hope either, and will watch until the end too. However, that doesn't mean that you can't also point out things that need to change.
Looking at HD's rotation and lineups you can plainly see that the more talented new guys get to sit behind and not get into games at a rate of other programs. Therefor they do not receive game time development and exposure. In the era of instant gratification and $$$$$ this will no longer work. The young'uns are not willing to sit and wait their turn at UNC while they can get injected into the lineup immediately somewhere else that now gets as much exposure as UNC.I don't think its an NIL issue. HD has matched offers for many targets. They, for whatever reason, don't want to come here.
Maybe we should take a look back at the last few seasons. Some, yourself included, are consistently negative, even with great teams and HOF coaches.
CBB has changed. That run is probably still among the better ones in the sport over that time period.Maybe we should take a look back at the last few seasons.
2018-2019 season was good. They were a number 1 seed in the NCAA tournament, but lost to Auburn in the Sweet 16.
2019-2020 season was awful. Losing record and wouldn't have made the tournament if they didn't cancel it because of COVID.
2020-2021 season was not good. 18-11, 10-6 in the ACC with an 8 seed in the tournament, and lost the first round. Roy retired.
2021-2022 season was another lackluster season for Hubert's first year until the beat Duke at Cameron and then went on the tournament run. But they were an 8th seed and were on the bubble to make the tournament before they beat Duke at Cameron. It wasn't really a good season until that point. You can think Manek for getting hot and Love for making some ridiculous shots to end the season on a great run.
2022-2023 season was another bad season. Preseason number 1 only to end up 20-13 and didn't make the tournament.
2023-2024 season was a good season again. They won the ACC regular season, had a 1 seed in the NCAA tournament, but once again lost in the Sweet 16 to a SEC team. This time it was Alabama.
This season has been pretty average at best so far. They haven't had any wins against top 25 teams except for Dayton. They have a habit of starting out slow and then trying to come back to win against good teams. If they lose some ACC games against anyone but Duke it could mean they miss another tournament, which would be 2 out of the last 3 seasons, and 3 out of the last 6. That's simply not Carolina basketball.
So they have had 2 good seasons out of the last 6 that ended in Sweet 16 losses, both as a 1 seed. They had 1 season that wasn't good until a win at Duke and a great tournament run. And the other 3 seasons were awful. This season so far reminds me of Roy's last season. The numbers don't lie. The program has been in a decline overall the last few seasons and has not had any consistency at all, with the majority of the last 6 seasons being bad.
But your argument that people are being negative for no reason is invalid when you look at how it has been during this time period objectively.CBB has changed. That run is probably still among the better ones in the sport over that time period.
A lot of you are pining for something that isn’t coming back.
Your feelings are based on a bygone era.But your argument that people are being negative for no reason is invalid when you look at how it has been during this time period objectively.
Has nothing to do with feelings. It's the numbers and results. Those are objective. I don't care about the rest of college basketball.Your feelings are based on a bygone era.
Relative to the rest of CBB UNC’s recent history is very good.
So your head is in the sand?Has nothing to do with feelings. It's the numbers and results. Those are objective. I don't care about the rest of college basketball.
