He put Elon "basically" in his cabinet and he is a libertarian
Elon is no Libertarian.

He's an apartheid trust-fund baby. He doesn't give a damn about government other than what he can exploit out of it. And he found the dumbest man on the planet to give him what he wants to sate his ego.

If you think Elon is a Libertarian, there's no point in discussing anything with you. You're too far gone. Ignored.

You support a man with the most uncivil comments and statements in the modern era of national politics.

Joe McCarthy likely blushes at Trump’s comments.

Let me know when Trump, his Administration, and the GOP are civil.
So Biden hasn't called Trump Hitler and said someone should put a target on his back? 2 days later Trump gets shot and then another assassination attempt was planned. No name calling on the other side?
Yes, both parties candidates needs to clean up their rhetoric.

"Elon Musk is the CEO or owner of multiple companies including Tesla, SpaceX, and X Corp, and has expressed many views on a wide variety of subjects, ranging from politics to science. Musk has often been described as libertarian, but also describes himself as "politically moderate".

3.6 trillion from Trump's spending was COVID and mandates from COVID. Leave that out and the debt he left would have been lower than Biden's this term. Still out of control from all the presidents.
To be fair, a good chunk of Biden's spending during his first two years was COVID related as well.

Without COVID, Trump's tax cut would have still greatly increased the deficit. The cuts greatly stimulated the economy but just kicked the can into the future, expanding the deficitt. He didn't have accompany the cuts with any spending cuts (IIRC, spending actually increased). Neither party has been serious about spending or the deficit.

Totally agree!

GOP won't cut defense, Dems won't touch entitlements.

I think theres a good amount of fat in the federal government (no way there isn't in such a large enterprise). Not sure Musk/Vivek are the guys to do a proper rightsizing, both from a knowledge standpoint as well as intent. And I'm not sure a starve the beast approach is the best way to achieve it for a government entity.

Curious what Josef has to say about this. Josef?
There was a CBS News/Yougov poll out earlier this week which noted that Republicans who were saying during the campaign that under Biden the economy was "getting worse" were suddenly saying since Trump's election that the economy was now getting better. Before the election over three-quarters of Republicans believed that the economy was getting worse, but since Trump's election less than half of Republicans now felt that way. So without even taking office Dear Leader has apparently already fixed the economy. Which only goes to show what a joke that issue was. IMO, Trump mainly won because of the usual GOP culture war issues, not because of economic ones.

In many ways I agree; the GOP still talks up the Laffer Curve……cut taxes and revenue increases…..this has been GOP policy since Reagan……the Laffer Curve is a joke.

Where I disagree is that the Democrats have worked to reduce the deficit.

The GOP has preferred cutting taxes for the wealthy to reducing the deficit.

Man, they want you not to give a crap! Well! I give a crap!! And I'm waiting to wipe it on the WH wall on J20 a bit past noon.

But yeah, I could give a shit about politics right now. :poop::poop::poop:

Musk doesn't want what is best for you

Just look at what he's doing with England right now. He's power hungry for himself

"""are going to suffer, like my lady-friend who told me she's going to put an IUD in her 15 year old daughter because she's scared if she gets raped she's going to be a grandmother to an unwilling daughter. And my gay friends who might lose their civil rights, and my friends of color that will be under even worse scrutiny than they were before. """

You seriously can't believe this? Why didn't Trump do this his first term? Why did he place a gay man in his cabinet?
You seriously need to quit watching The View as your news source.
Are you serious?

You can't see the differences between now and the first term?

First term there were people in place to keep him in check. Most of whom said they would never vote for him.

So far he's putting together a reality TV show cabinet and is appointing only loyal "yes men and women". He's not worried about reelection.

This isn't 2016 when he was surprised that a broken system elected him when he had less votes.

You really see that as equal?

I don't have time to list all of the insults thrown around by trump. This is a man that made fun of handicapped people and absolutely everyone else.

Oh he's serious all right. The problem is that people like him believe they have nothing to fear or worry about under Trump 2.0. They voted for him and they're Republicans and they're straight white men and women, so they don't have to worry about the government coming after them or restricting their rights or firing them from their jobs, so they're baffled as to why liberals are so worried. On the economic front they probably should be worried, as many of them would be in deep shit without Social Security and Medicare and Medicaid and Obamacare and other government goodies, but they all complacently believe that those things are "untouchable" and that things like Project 2025 will never actually be implemented. I guess we'll see.

The primary maga supporters are a cult. They were/are going to agree with everything he said. No matter if it was probably wrong.

Here's the difference if you need it spelled out for you.

Trump is insulting, demeaning, and nasty to literally everyone. Everyone. Nobody is spared. Even those he loves today will be the recipient of the venom soon enough.

Biden is insulting, demeaning, and nasty to....checks notes....Donald Trump.

Any further questions about the two men?

"said someone should put a target on his back?"

Show me the receipts.

If the Democrats lose the black votes and it seems like they slowly are it's gonna be a long time in getting in the Oval again.
They better ditch the progressive movement that AOC pressured them into and get back to normalcy.
Dems lost ground on the black male vote. That reflects misogyny more than a love of Trump. 4 years ago those same black men voted for Biden.

Losing a small fraction of the voting share in the demographic that votes the least while gaining ground with the college educated which is among the leaders in voter participation isn't a terrible, horrible tragedy, to be honest.
