Does Mecklenburg have a more mobile, transient population than the rest of North Carolina?Think we need those rates to tighten just slightly.
2020 Overall NC turnout was 75.35% and Mecklenburg was 72%, so it still trailed by 3ish%. But to make up ground we do need some tightening, but probably not a whole lot.
It’s anecdotal, but I know numerous recent UNC alums whose first jobs were in Charlotte. They wanted to be in NYC or DC or Miami or London. At the first opportunity, they left Charlotte.
Are some still on the voter rolls in Mecklenburg and they’ve moved elsewhere?
