I had forgotten from Trump 1 just how fawning and obsequious his aides are during his press confernces. That is especially egretious and out of place during a press conference on a tragedy of this magnitude.

Speculation alert - I already suspected that Trump’s post may have been made during a briefing — sort of publicly arguing with the brief real time(?). This Hegseth statement (alluding to Trump’s post) strengthens my suspicion on that count.
