Sure, they definitely can. But, they don't share nearly the blame that you are putting on them. The vast majority of that blame lies on the shoulders of the head coach and staff.

To be fair, I'm not saying that Hubert should be gone after this season unless we miss the NCAAT.

That said, I'm not sure who we'd get, but we'd need to run a real search and hire the best candidate possible.

The floor should be Wes Miller, who would almost certainly jump at the chance and would be a measurable upgrade over Hubert.

When a building collapses under its own weight, it doesn't take an engineer to diagnose that something went wrong.

Folks don't have to be a coach themselves or have all the answers to point out the obvious flaws.

Was has Miller done that would warrant a look?

If you fire a guy like Hubert Davis you better hit a home run on his replacement.

I’d like to see a repair over a tear down.

It’s a weird period in CBB history. I dont know if it’s fair to declare rough times a total indictment on a coaching staff.

He's had moderate success as a HC and shown he can build a program.

You don't need a home run to be better than Hubert, you just need someone who can hit consistent doubles with the chance to stretch them for more. Hubert is looking like a Mendoza Line hitter thus far who can occasionally hit with some power.

I'd prefer a repair, but it certainly appears we need a new general contractor.

The dynamics of college sports has certainly changed and I agree it is probably harder in the off season than it has ever been. However, anyone who has ever been a successful manager of people can easily see the flaws in what hubert is doing and i would disagree that once the season begins and the roster is set, accountability is no different under hubert than it was under DES. Making the same repeated mistakes in january as you did in november shows a lack of accountability in either the assistant coaches or player. The constant lack of effort on D is accountability. But it isn't just a lack of accountability that is the problem. That is but 1 issue. The lack of fundamentals, breakdown in rebounding, lack of effective scheme, etc. is 100% coaching. That is operational and doesn't even get into failures in recruiting and roster construction.
