It obviously does, I think two people have responded positively to the thread. Which was the intended purpose was for conservatives to be able to celebrate their win. Not for the dems to spill more vitriol.
But like you said when both sides talk is where conversations happen. So I am not opposed to it.
I tried at first, but then the post with the same old rhetoric about election security and deportation got me.

You know both parties realize that we need immigrants. They just love it as a talking point. Just like SS. the country would be fucked if we just did away with SS, but some love to keep the pot stired.

I'd love to actually hear how conservatives believe these things will play out and how they reconcile it as positive.

So, for you. Tell me how you see the immigration thing being positive if Trump actually departs 15 million people.

I think the temperature will come down with Trump’s victory. Many Democrats have decided that this is what the country is and aren’t going to fight anymore. It makes it more likely that Republicans maintain political power for more than two years.

And Democrats deciding to cut Republicans out of their lives will drastically reduce the temperature as there won’t be anyone to fight with.

Republicans have truly been victorious as they get political power and also don’t have to deal with liberals in their social lives or churches.
Not completely true. Liberals have destroyed many churches, just look at UMC.

I'm pretty familiar with the UMC's changes. I'm married to a (Duke MDiv) minister. I wouldn't say liberals have caused great harm. While there are a number of churches that disaffiliated over doctrinal change toward tolerance for LGBTQ, other issues are ageing out of the traditional membership, COVID's lingering effect on in-person attendance, and a trending of new potential members toward non-denominational churches that have entertaining contemporary services.

Congrats to:

White people
Racists
Fascists
Morons voting against their own self interests
Hoarders hoping for an apocalypse
The uneducated
Churchgoers that can’t tolerate their darker skinned neighbors

Think about this

If Trump won in 2020, he would’ve had a Democrat House and Senate

More impeachments, no Senate confirmations, no bills passed, and possibly the end of the MAGA movement as an effective political force

But now?

He has the House, Senate, Supreme Court, a popular vote mandate, and an entire country that wants to clean up our elections, close our borders, deport illegals, and hold corrupt politicians accountable

Sometimes I think it had to happen this way
You forgot the past 4 years of Trumpflation that FearXNews would not have told you about or (rightfully)convinced you was a by-product of solid economic growth

The disaffiiliation of 671 churches in NC is quite a number.

Remember, the only thing we have to fear is fear itself. Also Muslims, Mexicans, most of the Middle East, all of Africa except South Africa, Buzzfeed, Access Hollywood, chemtrails, lizard people, undercover cops posing as hookers, undercover dudes posing as lady hookers, germs, snakes, Saturday Night Live, and backstabbing Bruce Springsteen cover bands.

Are churches even half full these days? I mean I havent been to one since the 90s so I have no idea

Driving my son to school this morning as I normally did he brought Trump up and I said I sincerely hope he does a good job.
And I hope he does.
I do not. I mean, what does a good job even look like? What he would consider good, the rest of us would consider a disaster.

When the best hope for the country is that the fascist who was just elected will be too incompetent to carry out his threats, it's really a sad situation.

He’s a god damn idiot.
This is still like hope the pilot of your flying plane fails.

For the countries sake, I hope he does a good gob and that the loones in the heritage foundation are not able to turn the country into a theocracy or a religious dictatorship.

I'm thinking my definition of good, which probably translates to him getting nothing done from a far right standpoint.

Never understood this attitude. I don't gloat when my political candidates win, or my sports teams. Good game, and move on. I didn't vote for Trump, but he won, lets see if he can deliver.
