Most manufacturing cannot just pick up and move. Maybe your Dear Leader tells you that, but in the real world it doesn't. Steve Madden said it will lower its production from 70% in China to 40-45%. And that's in apparel, the easiest thing to move.Give it time, it’s only been 3 days since Trump won. Also, even if the companies don’t move back to the US it’s still a plus since the manufacturing moves from China to an ally like Taiwan or India vs an advisory.
They already did that in 2018. The EU Commission doesn't buy gas. They are literally trying to dupe Dear Leader, and since they duped him once, they are trying again. Let's see if he learns anything. The European Union Commission President: “One way for us to deter President-elect Trump from enacting tariffs is for us to buy more American natural gas.”
Bingo: The Art of the Deal.
We are already exporting more natural gas to Europe than ever and it jumped exponentially during Biden's presidency:The European Union Commission President: “One way for us to deter President-elect Trump from enacting tariffs is for us to buy more American natural gas.”

Crazy we didn’t hear the oil & gas industry singing Biden’s praises
Not surprised you are just learning about this now. You have been told many lies and have had lots of information hidden from you.Well then praise to Trump and Biden on this issue. We produce lots of natural gas so it’s good to find foreign markets.
Very observant on bond yields Super. The Fed just cut rates by another quarter point a few days ago. There is NO reason 10 year Treasury yields should be up (bond values down). Bond values go UP when rates are lowered. Bond values go DOWN when rates are increased-- to the tune of 16% down in 2022 when rates went up almost 500 basis points. That has never happened in over 50 years.1. The major company announced it is considering moving its production to other countries besides China, but not to the US. Most major companies are warning that relocation to the US is impossible.
2. Bond yields are also way up. And global markets are down. We'll see what happens, but I trust the bond market way more than the stock market.
3. Qatar/Hamas did not happen since Trump was elected.
4. China and Russia wanting to work with Trump is a bug, not a feature. I mean, seriously, man?
5. Mexico has said that it will continue to pursue the same policies as they have been. So if you think this is a good thing, thank Biden. Trump didn't have a damn thing to do with it.
6. The EU did not announce that it wants to buy more US gas. One person in the EU floated the idea as a possibility. It's more likely that they are playing to Trump's gullibility. Everyone knows Trump can be flattered into changing his attitudes.
The bond market is typically a good predictor of what the economy will look like in the following 6-12 months.Very observant on bond yields Super. Indeed, the bond markets are sending a very strong signal here.
I don't remember what thread it was, but I advised a guy who was seeking a safe haven on his money not to rush into a short-term bond fund. Short-term bonds are not the play this time. Stocks are likely to be better, although if the shit hits the fan the way we think it will, correlations between asset classes will approach 1.Very observant on bond yields Super. Agree with this. There aren’t hall monitors waiting to ban people here. And the funny part is, on IC a lot of the people getting banned were paying customers! Unreal.Agree. It's the same people as the IC board which was heavily liberal. The big difference is that this board actually has competent moderation and thus is a far better board.
The mods there were a joke.Agree with this. There aren’t hall monitors waiting to ban people here. And the funny part is, on IC a lot of the people getting banned were paying customers! Unreal.
Give Meathead credit for what? Trump couldn't count his balls and get the same number twice. He doesn't know shit about economics. They will reply and say negative things about all of these. They’re never going to give him credit. It’s sad but it is what it is.
They'll have run off in shame(again) long before then.Let's revisit this post 18 -24 months out, when inflation is raging again, we are paying a 20% tax on imported goods and J.D. Vance is POTUS. Your wish for a Christian nationalist theocracy may just come true!
I am so glad I left the Pub party after 35 years, now Unaffiliated, and never voted Trump. The bottom 50 percentile in intelligence has now been identified, MAGA and the rest that voted for Trump.
Oh, yeah. It happened the last time he was elected - they flooded the old IC board after Trump's shocking win and then nearly all of them vanished when his presidency turned into a dumpster fire early in his term. And it'll happen again. They'll have run off in shame(again) long before then.
Wow! Did Trump lower inflation to 2.5% since Tuesday?! Just ... wow! How does he do it?! He's Orange Jesus!Hey everyone, did you hear that inflation is now under 2.5% since Trump won the election???? The stock market is also up year to date after Trump won, unemplyment is extremely low. When will you cucks wise up and give the Messiah and the greatest President ever any credit?
Goodbye Great Depression 2.0!
I want to attempt to change the tone of our interaction before going any further here. My natural inclination, as backed by my poasting history, is to to lead with snarkiness so I want to assure you that what follows, while direct, is free from any of that. This post is a reflection of someone, to be sure. You didn’t start a thread in the prior case, you sought out someone who opened their own thread for a howl of grief (but also probably spoiling for a fight) and instead of moving on were a jerk about it. Plenty of that to go around these days, I guess.
Letting people vent while others gloat is a fraught endeavor. If you view posters here as an enemy to whom you quote lyrical death wishes, perhaps you should reconsider whether posting here is healthy for you (and this is true for other angry posters, as well). Heck, your side won the election.
For my part, I’ll chalk this one up to the other side of the emotional coin of the roiling reaction to the election here.
My view is that there are a lot of raw emotions here and generally just trying to avoid something getting truly out of hand.
Nobody is reading that. Happy for you though, or sorry that happened.I want to attempt to change the tone of our interaction before going any further here. I appreciate the time you’ve invested in taking on the mod role. I want you to know that I recognize that until this relatively minor (but eye-opening, to me) issue arose, I haven’t seen many signs of your moderation at all. That is meant as a compliment to you. Perhaps I’ve missed some things, but as far as I can tell you’ve been fairly straight-down-the-middle as to what’s been allowed to be poasted; no complaints. I mean, yeah, you might give a behind-the-scenes guiding hand to some folks that you wouldn’t lend to others of differing political persuasions but no big deal. Conversations can get heated, but they’ve been unaltered. You’ve done a really good job. That’s why I wanted to address this particular situation with you and called for you to “do better”.
First, we need to get the facts right. The “lyrical death wish” that you attribute to me, wasn’t actually written by me. It was a quote taken from the poast directly after my “offending” gif. I merely placed them together to show the objective absurdity of deleting the one while allowing the other. I didn’t use traditional quoting for my poast because I didn’t want to embarrass the poaster (anymore than he has done to himself over the past few days) or imply that I wanted any direct action taken against him for his poast. As much as I might chide him for his particular quirks, he’s actually one of my favorite poasters on the board; he’s quite the character and there are tinges of brilliance in his saner moments. If you notice, after his breakdown became obvious, I didn’t continue to interact with him. But…he is still poasting and this is supposedly an open board; I’m sure our paths will cross again. Prior to that potential happening (or a similar potential interaction) and with this instance as a backdrop, I think it’s fair to ask if all poasts will be afforded the same leeway by you, the moderator.
Look, I’ve been called plenty of names on this board: Nazi, racist, cunt, fuckface, jerk, whatever ... none of that bothers me. I don’t put folks on ignore and I don’t whine to you or Rock about any of it. So please know this isn’t a call to ban others, increase bannings or moderation of others, or anything of the sort. I’ve consistently argued for a wide-open and free-wheeling forum where as many opinions can be expressed and heard as possible. I could do without seeing yet another Aaron Rupar X post but I’d argue for your right to be able to poast it in a heartbeat. Until this, I thought you might have agreed with that sentiment.
This is silly in some ways. It is just a poast. It is just a message board. I get all of that. That said, I have supported this site regularly in small sums since its inception because I saw its potential as a place to actually have unfiltered conversations with some folks who might not agree on everything but might have some common life experience (Carolina). I don’t want to support yet another site that eventually devolves into a left-of-center-or-else haven moderated by someone who can’t get beyond her own biases to make objective decisions, even in particularly stressful times. Hence my questions to you…do you think, in this particular instance, you made a good/fair decision? If so, do you think that the gif you deleted was more or less likely to move things toward “getting out of hand” than the “lyrical death wish” poast and why? If not, do you think this was a one-off mistake or do you think you will be susceptible to doing the same in the future? Im not judging you as a person, we’re all human. I’d just like your honest response(s) so that I can make decisions on what I choose to support with either my time or my money. Fair?
