I do want conservatives on here

But, don't get me wrong, I do want conservatives on the board.

I can probably do without the cultist, but the conservatives are ok.

Before trump, when I voted mostly conservative listening to others and reading were instrumental in my evolution.

I also don't see democrats or the Democrat party as perfect.

My hope is that trump is so bad that both sides see a need to bring in new, competent, representatives. And work together to get things done.

If you’re a Republican who roots for elections like they’re sporting events, why would you be hopeful that democrats do serious introspection about why they lost? Shouldn’t you be hoping that they keep the same strategy and continue to lose?
Because I would rather vote (and live) in a political environment where both candidates can comfortably speak out against taxpayer funded sex changes for prisoners and get out of the wacko-land the Democratic party is currently operating in.

Still here. Just not as much to talk about now that the election is over. Have always said that win or lose, politics doesn’t dictate my daily mood much and it shouldn’t yours either.

I have been intentional about not gloating too much about the ass kicking Trump laid on Harris because I know I am in a big minority here as a Trump voter.

I remain hopeful that the result of the election will lead to some careful introspection from Democrats about why they lost every single swing state and lost ground with every single demographic. But do I think most on this board are willing to have that conversation? No. I think most of you just want to bitch about Trump every day for 4 more years.
Please start the discussion.

If it’s informed and factual, it’ll be appreciated. If it’s Trumplican nonsense such as “rigged elections,” it’ll be mocked.

Outside of making their messaging more effective and not wading into so many bullshit culture war traps laid by the Republicans, I do not think the Democrats need to do much else over the next 18 months other than lay low and let the GOP punch itself out. The Democrats should be a very vocal minority party, voting no on literally everything and spending all day every day screaming about how awful this Trump economy truly is. The policy aims of the Trump administration are so breathtaking with bad and so extraordinarily unpopular to everyone except for a small part of the ultra MAGA base, the Democrats won’t really have to do anything other than what I have outlined above for the next 18 months until the midterm. The Trump administration is already taking body blows and scoring own-goals and we are not even two weeks in; they completely buckled and back down like enormous pussies today with the budget free stuff, and the blanket pardon of violent January 6 convicts is deeply unpopular even among conservatives. There is going to be so much ammunition and cannon fodder Kratz if they can just grit their teeth and sit back and let Republicans Republican.

Aside from Trump actually not winning, this has been a best case scenario so far if your ultimate aim is the demolition of the Republican Party. The Trump administration was a lame duck from the moment it was inaugurated last week, they basically have 18 months until one or both houses of Congress, and Trump eked out smallest popular vote win in generations but is arrogantly behaving as if he has a mandate.
Remember too that presidential second terms are invariably worse than the first. It's hard to believe we can endure worse than Trump's mishandling of Covid, but if history is our guide, Term #2 will be much worse than Trump 1.0.

Perhaps as much introspection as the Republicans went through when they lost all but one swing state in 2020? Which is to say, no introspection.

Inflation went through the roof in 2021-2022 and incumbents everywhere lost in 2023 and 2024. You don't need to do any more introspection than that.

Do you think the Torries in the UK lost because of their woke policies and border policies? No, they lost because of the 2021-2022 economy.

I wish I had your optimism…..I might call some aspects of your outlook as zealous……often new converts are zealous while longer-term adherents are lower key.

The GOP has structural advantages because our system favors land over people. The Democrats are a longshot to win the Senate in 2026. It’ll be hard for the Democrats to win more than a slim majority in the House in 2026 - people have to realize how gerrymandered Congressional seats are.

People have to realize how gerrymandered many state legislatures are.

CFord, you might be 55-70 years-old before today’s gerrymandering is defeated.

George W. Bush did the same after won the 2000 election by 537 votes in Florida and then squeaked through to reelection with less than 51 percent of the vote against Kerry. And by the time he left office in 2008 his presidency was a trainwreck (it only looks better now compared to Trump, and in some ways 2008 was actually worse, if that's possible) and he had record-low approval ratings. Claiming you won by a landslide when you didn't and then governing as if you won 60 percent instead of less than 50 usually doesn't work out well in the long run.
The United States of America is much more gerrymandered today than it was in 2004 and 2006.

These states are voting GOP:
  • Florida
  • Georgia (Covid gifted GA to the Democrats in 2020)
  • South Carolina
  • North Carolina
  • Alabama
  • Mississippi
  • Tennessee
  • Kentucky
  • West Virginia
  • Ohio
  • Maine’s 2nd District
  • Indiana
  • Louisiana
  • Arkansas
  • Missouri
  • Iowa
  • Kansas
  • North Dakota
  • South Dakota
  • Nebraska
  • Oklahoma
  • Texas
  • Utah
  • Idaho
  • Montana
  • Wyoming
  • Alaska
Those states are solidly red. Often by YUUUGE margins.

I expect over half of the violent ones to be in jail (or dead) before the 2026 midterms. They have that toxic combo of violence and stupidity.
Y’all do realize that we’re talking about 1,500-1,600 people out of 330 million people…….you do realize 1/3 or more don’t know shit and that 1/3 or so support the J6 terrorists.

Trump’s pardons matter to us and the MAGAts.

'Tis true. The jig is up and has been since 2010 mid-terms. The "Red" states, the Old Confederacy and it's sympathizers, simply could not stand the thought of a black man in the white house. That's all they needed to coalesce and take over State Houses... and they were lucky enough to do it just as the new Census came out - and new districts could be drawn. They Gerrymandered the living daylights out of each and every State they now "owned".

The Tea Party was born... which led to MAGA... and here we are.

Also, in regards to the Media - they've all been bought up or summarily owned by rich folk and corporations who are just fine with their tax cuts. The so-called "legacy" media and the "fake news" "liberal media" are all in the same boat. Peas in a pod. Follow the money... they were all just as complicit. Just look at them now, white-washing and sanitizing as we speak. And Miller still gets to "call them out" for a "hoax" re: memos and executive orders... and the media simply sits back and takes one up the poop shoot because... you know... bottom line.

Have you looked up the stats on how many tax payer funded sex changes there have been in the prison system?

Working = gerrymandering

When it should mean having policies that people actually support. Well other than we will do away with taxes.

Nope, but I know it was a critical issue in deciding at least 1 POTUS election, because one candidate couldn't renounce even a ridiculous position like that.

Do we still want conservatives on here?
Are there any still commenting on threads? Posting new threads? I haven’t noticed much presence lately.
I’ve got some on Super Ignore so I may not see their posts.
Is Callatroy still around? Has he been defending the shit-show that is the trump admin the past two days? Is he agreeing with Stephen Miller that it’s all been a media hoax?
Calling all conservatives on the board… wazzup y’all?
Your Master is here. Out of town working with only an iPad to educate all of you less cerebrally endowed, emotional snowflakes.

... and I'll never know anything about it. Calla is comfortably entombed in the Super Ignore vault.

Some of you can pass on my words to the board chief snowflake (or not). Putting people on ignore is the ultimate indicator of a lack of intelligence and an emotional weakling.

Calla's been laying REALLY low. I don't blame him. He's by far the smartest of our Pub friends here, and he knows how bad it is right now.
What am I going to do? Defend trump’s comments on the plane crash? I don’t support his comments, think they are extremely premature, aren’t presidential, and make him look like a flaming idiot. So, what are we supposed to debate? Really nothing for a smart conservative to say so why hang out here and get the liberal dog shit stench all over my shoes. ;):)
