If we hire Dan Mullen I will blow a gasket.
Might be the most well known who will take the job. Is UNC that desirable of a job all things considered? Will depend upon who we are in competition with bc they will be other HC positions open up.

Yeah good points, for sure. I just don’t want us to go after another retread doing TV. Nothing against Mullen, personally, he may even be a good coach and I could be entirely wrong.

As much as I'm ready for a fresh start, this makes me sad. Mack Brown was the coach for much of my formative years, and (along with Jerry Rice and the 49ers), the reason I got into football in the first place.

It's strange that the guy whose primary super power is his ability to recruit couldn't make it happen in an era where 99% of the game now is recruiting.

Mullen was a great coach, but by all accounts he hated recruiting and that’s why he got fired at Florida, plus he hasn’t coached in years. Those are two massive red flags.

I think it’ll be either Sumrall or Schumann.

It’s really not that strange when you think about it. The writing on the wall has been there for several seasons, and HS recruits don’t want to commit to a program where they know with near certainty that because of age, the coach is either going to retire or get forced out in the next season or two. For the recruit that means unknown new head coach, new coordinators, new position coaches midway through their college careers.

It’s why Mack 2.0 always had a very limited shelf life.

I must say I'm surprised our AD had the stones to force Brown out. My assumption was that the PTB were going to give him at least another year. The BC performance might have been the final straw.

The off season now promises to be exciting.
