I agree he put us in this position by holding on too long. It's very apparent now there is nothing Harris could have done to win, this wasn't a problem with her campaign IMO.

Needed a primary, needed a consensus chosen candidate, likely doomed anyway.
not sure the issue was lack of consensus among the coalition, unless the liberals really sat things out, I think the bigger problem was the independents are just unhappy, but I am not a data scientist. I am not sure if the answer is too complicated that we can't comprehend it or its so simple we can't accept it. People without loyalty to either party just want to vent their spleens.

Told my wife this morning that we just need to continue focusing on raising our daughter to be kind and caring to all people and just hope and pray we have a chance to right this shithole of a ship in 2028. I’ll
be focusing on doing things to help relieve my daily stress starting in 2025 and focusing on the things that make us happy. A true FUCK YOU to all of the dipshits out there who were just conned for a third time. You deserve everything that will be coming to you and yours because of your truly idiotic decisions.

And going forward Independents are -well in NC they are the largest "party"-so every election will be about both regular parties trying to figure out the Independents who are too apathetic to even pick a party-give to a party etc Wild times ahead

The story of our country.

The million dollar question for me is how many of those red arrows were once consistently blue, and how many were gray and historically flip back and forth like a feather in the wind?

that was the 4 am conversation with my wife. Let's take care of each other and our child, then help whom we can, because a lot of people will need it more than we will. All we can do is model behavior for the next generation.

Come on, man. I refuse to let these results allow me to blame Biden. Biden had a great term. Look where we were and where we are.

The country just doesn’t want a woman. Period.
Yeah, Biden generally did great. People are idiots and either didn’t understand how things work/what was happening in the world or were fed disinformation or both. One major problem with Biden, however, is that he absolutely sucked as a communicator, so he could never present himself in a charismatic way that could get many Americans to buy into what he had accomplished.

Outside of Selzer lol were they really wrong?
I was telling my husband, I don’t remember ever seeing a poll where she wasn’t leading in Wisconsin. Sure, margin of error and all of that, but it seemed to be the one consistent state.

I’m so glad I took today off. I’m not even sure what to do with myself. I’m one of those “November is for Thanksgiving“ people, but I think I might just go buy some Christmas decorations to cheer/distract myself. My 14-year-old made me chuckle when he said he can’t even scroll Instagram in peace this morning due to all the MAGA nonsense.

With Biden I'm not sure he could communicate in his diminished state the past couple of years. I shudder to think what his condition will be in a year.

I think the sad thing is that I’m not even all that upset. I sort of saw it coming and coped in advance. Now I’m just apathetic. It was truly a red wave, this is what the country wanted, this is the reality of where we live. I’ve got no fight left in me. I’m frankly relieved that it’s over. I don’t know where we go from here, but for a while I’m just gonna put my head down and focus on my family.

I knew I might need distraction/ an outlet for nervous energy so I ordered 2 cubic yards of stone to be delivered for a foundation of a shed. My plan was to rake it out to burn it all off today. Sadly, the delivery has not come through yet.

Fortunately you and your wife are rowing in the same direction. There are enough families in which that is not the case.

Man this is depressing on several levels.

There are negative consequences that are going to stem from this election that will have “extended release” effects that will take years and decades to truly feel, and by then republicans will blame those things on whatever else they want except for Trump.

The thing that blows in the immediate short term is that we have to sit here and listen to the glue-eating Trump supporters gloat in their victory like they just won the Super Bowl. It’s like when State beats Carolina and their fans never let you hear the end of it, amplified 100x.

I fear what will happen domestically, but I may fear the international impact of a Trump presidency even more. I’m sure the people in NATO countries are quite nervous, particularly in those that sit close to Russia.

We may see a shift in our foreign policy that has significant global implications that last for decades upon decades. And if relationships with our allies deteriorate while we hold the door open for countries like Russia, our national security may be at stake.
