I fear what will happen domestically, but I may fear the international impact of a Trump presidency even more. I’m sure the people in NATO countries are quite nervous, particularly in those that sit close to Russia.

We may see a shift in our foreign policy that has significant global implications that last for decades upon decades. And if relationships with our allies deteriorate while we hold the door open for countries like Russia, our national security may be at stake.
In the end-Foreign policy is more important than any domestic issue POTUS has almost total power in that area

Told my wife this morning that we just need to continue focusing on raising our daughter to be kind and caring to all people and just hope and pray we have a chance to right this shithole of a ship in 2028.

That's where I'm at too.

I've got a boy who turns 2 this morning. I have much more important shit to focus on than what that nitwit does and tweets for the next four years. Hopefully in 4 years we can start again and begin making this a better, more inclusive country for him to inherit.

This has been one of my big issues. It’s very likely we are about to abdicate our global throne.

Is it good for Putin yes/no?

That will be foreign policy, and is why I think near every aspect of American life is on the block.

Oh that part is coming as well. This whole thing was a middle finger to the entire world. I can’t wait to see the long faces when American exceptionalism fails utterly

Joke paraphrase
A trumper and horse walk into a bar. Bartender looks up and says - why the long faces.

Montana passes constitutional amendment protecting abortion rights, while Trump wins the state by 20 percentage points. So bizarre to me.
Heard someone talking about that on NPR, specifically regarding the vote of white women. Trump threw abortion back to the states, said it wasn’t his issue anymore, and people saw it as them being able to vote on it how they want without having to not vote for Trump.

The people have spoken and America gets what she deserves. Kennedy and Musk in the Cabinet. Military leaders who can take orders like Hitler's generals.
It was a good day for Putin and oligarchs foreign and domestic.
Democrats need to make a list of Trump's promises to remind voters in four years what they were sold for their votes.

Well good luck with the dissonance when the federal reproductive restrictions arrive.

No more telling than the fact that liberals on the board knew how you would react. It's not rocket science...
Hedge, I tend to like you and your posts. If there’s one thing we can say for sure right now about this election, it’s that the leftists didn’t get Trump elected.

I’ve listened to y’all for the past few months and didn’t trust my gut feeling. After so many people jumped down my throat last week when I was talking about Harris’ strategy, I took a break from the board because I thought I was wrong.

I’m not saying every analysis I make is right, but I think part of the issue is being dismissive of anything that runs counter to what you may already think.

I posted about that numerous times; about how I feared that putting that on the ballot a la carte gave people an out to vote for Trump/a Republican candidate while also voting in favor of a democratic policy position. It gave them the opportunity to feel like that could have their cake and eat it too.

Worth a read this morning.

This sounds like this board whenever someone suggested that they were not feeling good about the election:
"A little over a month ago, I was not happy about the way things were going. Then I got a lot of pushback on the internet and was told I was a silly doomer and my analysis was all based on vibes. This, along with the polls and coverage, made me soften my read and consider other possibilities."
