Memebership based independent media is happening organically on the left. I think the Dems should lean on these content creators for free media like the Republicans did relentlessly this cycle.

This is another inherent disadvantage. There is no incentive for billionaire money to go to left-wing propaganda and media environment. Why would it? Wouldn't be in their interests.

Liberals will have to build a grass roots information environment. In can start with competing on social media but may ultimately be a matter of creating other social media platforms that are seen as "voices of the people." I don't know what that looks like, but I'm not gifted at such things. Surely it can exist though, if created by bright minds.

And it's not enough just to say it once or twice, or even for a couple weeks (like the attack on Republicans being "weird" that Kamala used when first became prospective nominee and seemed effective but then just immediately stopped doing). You have to do it ad nauseum. Over and over and over.

Liberals do it too but its not very effective. They are going to ban contraception... They are going to ban gay marriage... They are going to ban interracial marriage... Does anyone who wasn't going to vote Democrat anyway really believe that? Its changing about as many minds as claims of Haitians eating cats.

Don't kid yourself. Democrats have gone after billionaire money for a while. And there are plenty of billionaires willing to support Democrats. There is a reason Pelosi was the majority leader for so long and was from San Francisco. It wasn't because of her masterful shepherding through of legislation but it had a lot to do with her fundraising from big tech liberals.

Maybe because Haitians eating cats is not remotely true but banning some of those rights is something that is very possible.

Is there some talk going around on social media about this? I get the impression that there is, but I haven't seen anything. I mean, are there conservatives on twitter or where ever saying that liberals ought to play nice and continue to see family members and friends who voted for Trump? I'll admit I don't really go on twitter or other social media very much anymore.

Then in that case it's really pathetic that Trumpers are begging liberal family members not to cut them off. "Yeah, I voted for this total asshole who has threatened to make your life miserable and called you evil and a Satanist and his supporters have threatened to kill you and ruin your life, but please come to Thanksgiving Dinner this year and be nice to me!" Good God.

Sure. Contraception, which has a 90% approval rating amount Americans, is in real danger. When that is banned, I'll start worrying about fluffy and the sky falling.

Of course that's what they want. Hell, I took my entire extended family (only have extended, I'm an only child) on a 10 day Christmas cruise 2 years ago to try to have everyone be together rather than disparate. We are always the ones hosting Thanksgiving, etc.

No more. Let MAGA figure it out.
 
During an interview on meet the press, Kristin Welker said Trump’s tax cuts that he plans to extend/implement have a cost of 9 trillion dollars. Not sure where that money will come but Senator Barrasso (R-WY) said clawing back the Biden administration’s “excessive spending” plus after the tax cuts in 2017 treasury receipts increased so it won’t add to the deficit. Sure Senator 🙄

Then there is the cost of the mass deportation which will also hit the workforce hard. This is gonna get bad 😐

Yes, especially w/r/t the upcoming Thanksgiving holidays. Basically, libs should accept that I will be gloating about the election but still invite me / join me because it’s my right, my side won and it’s just politics — you should still like me anyway.

Gay marriage is a lot less safe than contraception and contraception could be on the block in relatively short order.
If overturning Griswold seems too big a climb, they might start with a challenge to Carey and then gradually broaden the scope of a contraception ban. I’d bet it would start with legislation in TX, MS or AR. Ban contraception to minors, wait for the lawsuits and take the appeal to the 5th circuit. After SCOTUS fabricates reason from whole cloth with the thread left over from Dobbs, move on to a broader ban.
Remember, overturning Griswold would only “send the issue back to the states where it belongs” or whatever phrase you head in the sand types prefer these days.

Unlikely this convoluted legal strategy would get you there but Even if it did, 90% of Americans support contraception. Is it really likely politicians are going to vote against something that 90% of people like? That's why I say that Democrat scare tactics are about as ridiculous in some cases as Republican scare tactics.
