Not the most recent. Look into the Quiver movement which goes back some time. I think the Duggar family may have even been associated with them.Wish I could remember/find the author and her book. From what I can remember, she writes that conservatives saw the results of the most recent census and just how more multicultural the country is becoming. They also saw white couples were on average having fewer children. All of this combined scared the shit out of them. They see themselves in the minority in the not so distant future. Hence the stronger push for not only pro life but also to restrict as much as they can all forms of birth control. Yes there are conservatives that see this as right to life and/or some religious view, but the rest seeing themselves as a minority really lit a fire.
It was also behind the original banning of abortion in the late 1800s. That was driven by a populist Protestant movement worried by the southern European immigrants who were Catholic and the AMA who wanted to run the midwives out of business.
