I would highly advise any woman of reproductive age, particularly in the 16-25, age range who don’t want to become pregnant to highly consider more long term options like nexplanon and IUDs

Just to be clear, this is a political stunt that everyone should see through. Republicans do the same thing when they advance bills like when McConnell put all the planks of the Green New Deal platform up for a vote. Folks should see these as political stunts, not serious policy objectives.

I'd be willing to make a bet that if you put forth a bill that banned condoms or the pill instead of a nebulous banning birth control bill, you would get a much clearer picture of where Republicans and their voters stand. But of course Shumer didn't do that.

I would recommend that women consider the Lysistrata strategy to reclaim and protect their reproductive health care options...

For decades after WW2 the great majority of Americans were convinced that something like the Nazis could never happen here. Americans were different, too individualistic and freedom-loving, and so on. And the Germans were just weird and actually like that stuff. And yet here we are, with a majority of voters giving a fascist wannabe and his buddies complete and total control of the federal government. And no, I don't think that Trump is Hitler, but I do think he has many of the characteristics of the classic Banana Republic strongman (dictators) that used to control so many Third World countries 40 or 50 years ago (and in many cases with American assistance, such as the CIA). This country is broken - not just the government or Constitution or political system - but the American people are broken.

Right-wing misinformation is akin to cross-contamination and is a major cause of mind poisoning. Ultimately, it causes a lot of harm to innocents.

I don't know what I'm going to do about this. If it were up to me, I'd cut them all off. Fuck 'em. But my wife doesn't want to cut her family off... so IDK what I'm going to do. If I stay home, I'm basically drawing battle lines in the sand that will probably lead to the end of my marriage. My wife and I share the same political views but her family is full of Trumpers who "love us" and are "good people" :rolleyes: I really do hate Trump.

Agreed. You and I (plus others) play a key role on this board of exposing people to some differing perspectives on some things. They may not always appreciate us but they should :)
