No doubt. Also not remotely my point. I can be a dick too, but is that really all that necessary?

How about this...name a target audience for UNC football who sees the current coverage and focus as a positive.
Fair enough. Apologies regarding the dickitude.

none of those are target audiences, and two of the three are not seeing it as a positive for UNC, which is what was being asked.
ESPN and Pablo definitely see it as a positive. Their entire non-live sports programming is premised on selling hot takes. They want controversy.

The ticket office appears to be doing very well this year -- so apparently, it has been positive (or at least not negative) for ticket sales.

you're saying they're seeing it as a positive for them, which is because they get to make fun of Bill and UNC, because they see it as a negative for UNC. "the ticket office" has no feelings on the matter whatsoever.

Man, ticket offices never get any sympathy. It's a lonely job, and we should be appreciative. And more sensitive.

How would you like to sit there inanimate for 8 months a year, working only on weekends during the season, and then be told that you have no feelings?

Well, Travis didn't ask for WHOM it was a positive. Just who saw it as a positive and was a target audience for UNC. I assume we very much view the media as a target audience (particularly now that ACC revenue is allocated based on ratings) and it is clear the media just loves this story for a host of reasons.

What boggles the mind is a story that blew up over the last 48 hours due to a discredited hot-taker (Pablo Torre) stating that there was a nonzero chance that Chapel Bill never coaches a game. This was not based on any insider information, it was just one dude's opinion and the media ran with it with stories about how Bill is likely on his way out.

Pablo was not wrong. It is entirely possible that Bill Belichick never coaches a game at UNC. Belichik could get hit by a bus tomorrow. However, speculation about every possible outcome that even has the smallest chance of happening is not news. It is simply bullshit. There is also a nonzero chance that Belichick goes undefeated and wins a natty as UNC's head coach. There is a nonzero chance that after Belichik dies, he is cloned and Belichik 2.0 comes to UNC and coaches from 2050-2090 and wins 32 consecutive national titles. There is a nonzero chance that Torre gets gorked on cocaine and ketamine and legally changes his name to TurdsinMaMouffMouff. Where are the news articles about that?

Mack’s firing has been the biggest positive for UNC football ticket sales.
