Your wish is my command. I spend an inordinate amount of time during the week languishing in airport lounges, I've got all the time in the world for finding the goods on the tweeter machine hahacford please keep them coming for those of us not on the tweeter
yeah - it was pretty disappointing how few real options the Dems would have had in a primary for this year, but with any luck the next cycle will have a lot of really engaging, diverse candidates. With people like Wes Moore and Shapiro on deck? Agreed.
No doubt it can, but absent some sort of major scandal, the momentum, enthusiasm, energy, and excitement that this ticket is generating on the left and in the middle is becoming more and more of a snowball rolling downhill. It would take something massive to derail it, IMO.
I need a commercial with this clip versus Trump hanging out with Epstein or cruising backstage for underage Miss Americans.
And if she had picked Shapiro then Fox would simply be attacking him all this morning using a separate set of talking points. "Shapiro will not be popular with the party's progressive wing - she deliberately snubbed the party progressives by picking Shapiro. I bet at least some of them won't support the ticket now." blah blah. There is no one that Harris could have chosen who would not be attacked by Fox and other right-wing media. So I'm not worried about these attacks by right-wing media at all. And if they think he's a "gift to Republicans" just wait until he debates Trump's faux hillbilly running mate who wears heavy eyeliner. That should be fun to watch. So out of curiosity, flipped it over to Fox News.
Shapiro should have been the pick…Most Left-Wing Ticket in US History…Stood by While Floyd Protest Violence Out of Control…Walz A Massive Gift to Republicans.
Time to crank up the hate/fear factor.
He’ll be in a better position to be on the top of the ticket in 2032 by not being the VP pick right now. Generally speaking, VPs don't do well when they run during their second term as VP or if they run after being on a losing presidential ticket. As someone who won’t be voting for the ticket either way (so I’m not their target audience), I’m disappointed it isn’t Shapiro because Shapiro is the kind of politician I’ve really grown to like as my own political views have evolved recently. I like the pragmatic centrist governors like Cooper, Shapiro, Beshear, Hogan, etc regardless of which party designation they have.
Someone like Shapiro on the top of the ticket is what it would take to get me to actually vote Dem, but him being VP would’ve put him in position to potentially be at the top of the ticket by 2032.
But he wears plaid shirts when he travels south. What's more authentic and every man than that?I think that Walz's appeal to working class, unions, and middle class folks is going to be an enormous boost to the ticket, especially juxtaposed to the other ticket that has a trust fund baby who shits on golden toilets and a doughy Yale-educated venture capitalist who cosplays as a hillbilly.
Those were the days in the Uppper Mid westCan we rename the national party to Democratic-Farmer-Labor while we’re at it?
William Jennings Bryan come on down! Actually one of my favorite prairie populists was a Kansas firebrand in the 1890s named Mary Lease, who supposedly said "The farmers in Kansas need to raise less corn and more hell!' although some think the line was actually invented for her by newspaper reporters. She did like the phrase though.Make prairie populism great again!
