Seems they would take one of the many opportunities that have been presented to set the record straight.

The real answer is, just like most Republican voters have an abortion position similar to what JD Vance just articulated, most Democratic voters have an abortion position similar to what you guys advocate for on here.

What folks on here miss though is, just as the actual Republican politicians are beholden to the lunatics on the religious right on this issue, the Democratic politicians twist themselves into a pretzel to not draw ANY line in the sand, even when repeatedly pressed on it and asked to clarify.

TLDR - politicians suck on this issue
I guess I just don't understand or agree with this line of thinking. It would be like if Democrats demanded to know why Republicans refuse to denounce kindergarteners getting massacred in their classrooms. Nobody who is serious or reasonable- even if they disagree with Republican gun control policies- thinks that Republicans are "okay" with elementary schoolers getting turned into a shooting gallery.

Good answer by Vance on abortion

Walz predictably doesn’t answer if he’s ok with 9th month abortions. No clue why Democrats will never come out and denounce that, especially given how rare they are.
Why should they? People should be able to read the numbers. The problem is the cult believes drump when he states that a child can be aborted after the child is born. If they believe stupid lies like that, there's no helping them.

On the one hand, I doubt anyone thinks that is what he meant, but yeah.

I’m watching the Braves game for a bit, just to torture myself.

YOU RADICAL LIBS, YOU HAVE TO DENOUNCE SOMETHING THAT NEVER HAPPENS, OR ELSE I'LL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO BELIEVE THAT YOU SUPPORT THE MURDER OF BABIES IN THE THIRD TRIMESTER, WHICH DOESN'T EVER HAPPEN!
I recently read that less than 1% of abortions are in the last trimester, but they are not for birth control. They are normally for the life of the mother at that point.

All the while the lying pro-life republicans would rather see the mother die then admit that they are wrong about women's medical rights.

Walz is doing an ok job overall but Vance schooled him on abortion just now. Vance was willing to take a centrist position on abortion but Walz was not.

Noteworthy given that abortion is generally an issue that Democrats win on.
Vance taking a softened stance on abortion is an acknowledgement that the Democrats are winning the issue.

Yeah, what was that? I wasn’t even sure if I heard it right it sounded so weird. I guess he was trying today he had”s become friends with people who were present during school shootings?

Vance doesn't sound like a MAGA lunatic and Walz doesn't sound like socialist, Marxist, radical leftist.

Not the same and not an answer to what was asked but I admire your jcding

You gotta let it go Elsa. We all saw nyc state on the very first question thar Walz never answered. Then you whined when she said the same about Vance, "waaaaaah, of course you say that about Vance but not the other one."

I laughed when I read it knowing she called out Walz right on question one for not answering. So just stop it, sad to watch.

My biggest takeaway is that this is what debates can be like - this is what elections can sound like - if you get rid of Trump and MAGA. This is what debates used to sound like - i.e., Obama vs. Romney. Candidates agreeing in many instances about both what the problems are and what the solutions are. Civility, not an immature pissing match. Having this MAGA poison in our political system is what makes everything toxic and awful. JD Vance sounds mostly reasonable on this debate stage, but the second he steps off of it he'll be right back to "they're eating the cats and dogs" and all the other BS because he's entirely in the thrall of Trump and the MAGA hordes.

We don't have to do the crazy stuff. Trump and a vocal MAGA minority bring the crazy stuff that no one wants. Yet people who think of themselves as reasonable centrists and don't really like the crazy are still going to vote for him in droves.
