Thanks for the insight on the MH ((ManhattanHeel) fiasco Altmin. I remember it well, but never knew why she disappeared. She was hell on heels and awesome. The dookie and wuffie trolls despised her because she always smacked them down.

I mentioned earlier some drama with a female poster HoyaMandy. I thought she was the one that got into something nasty with a Wuffie. You are correct, it was MH.

I think HoyaMandy was the one that got doxxed herself and disappeared.

HT started with the fox acquisition and that shitty board software.

the BOB happened bc of the babe thread, IIRC. Also, the BOB is still around but, yeah, it's sparse especially after the board MAGA crowd all decided to stop posting and Dan was banned. But it's been awhile since I was on they may have returned but I don't think so. @UNCRushFan still posts there so maybe he would know.
Nice to see you @NOVAHEEL13 ! Hopefully more of the HT crowd comes over here, if nothing more than just to register and post occasionally.

I was part of the exodus to HT and the BoB circa 2012, but I don't post on HT as much now. I like the HT community very much, but I've taken more of a lurker role there in the past few years than that of an active participant, which started when my life took a few different twists and turns some years back, not for any reason due to lack of interest in the conversation or the community.

The BoB has a small nucleus of regulars ( lookin' at you, Professor @donbosco , @GeeWhy ) these days, and there are a couple hardcore conservatives who occasionally return (OE, Bort), post for a bit, and disappear again. As Nova said, Dan(imal) was banned a while back, but I would expect him to be permitted back at some point, a la the same style as U00051. Hopefully we will see some of them start to migrate over here as well. Finesse, for example - I'm sure folks will remember him - still posts with regularity on both HT and the BoB.

Bo - or at least someone using "ItsBoTime" - has registered here. OCS89 was making spoof accounts of legit posters on the ZZLP as of the last several days, so not sure if it's really him or OCS.

I miss the old school trolls (pre-Trump) too:
IAmBuckwheat (aka "IAmBaitwheat")
Trackstyle
MotelInn
DeacCity
Ssssteve
upheels
TVTray
StagecoachDriver
NegativeZero

Randman and Falconjet aren't really trolls as much as they are conspiracy theory type folks. Falconjet seems more reasonable recently though.

I want to say Bo's initial claim to fame was him posting about some troubles he was having with a girl he was dating, and that he cried during sex with her. After that, it was him JCDing any kind of questionable incident involving a law enforcement officer, no matter how heinous his offense. I don't remember why he was eventually banned, but he's come back with multiple handles since then.

I'm old now, and my memory isn't nearly what it once was.
Trackstyle is still with us. He's the ZZLP mad bomber who has registered thousands of aliases over the years, and we remove about about 10-12 aliases of his a week.

Iambuckwheat and stagecoachdriver were the same person.

Don't forget The Bomber...the funniest man on the Internet!

Yeah, ManhattanHeel actually chewed me out one time for suggesting that there were individual department at NCSU that were among the best of their kind in the country and were actively recruited by employers. In particular, she once said that NCSU engineering graduates were held in wide ridicule by employers. I responded that was not the case and, to the contrary, NCSU engineering graduates had the reputation of not being prima donnas and were actively sought after by employers seeking an engineer who didn't mind getting his or her hands dirty on mundane tasks the needed to be done and done correctly. She did not respond well to this rather mild praise of NCSU.

ETA1: Q: How do you tell the difference between an extroverted engineer and an introverted engineer? A: When an extroverted engineer talks to you, he looks at your shoes rather than his shoes.

ETA2: Q: How much does it cost to get an estimate from an engineer? A: I don't know, but give me two months and half a million dollars and I can give you a feasibility study.

I remember on one of the two old NC State boards (I believe there used to be two active Wolpfacker boards instead of just PackPride) they hated her with a passion, but I also got the sense that at least some of them were afraid of her as well. She was definitely in their heads for sure.
Packpride was mainly older fans and alums. Thewolfweb was mainly current State students and it was basically 4chan before 4chan. you could find a lot of very bad things there at ties. They would post photoshopped porn there, stolen nudes of State students etc. It was an independent website so didn't even have the barely enforced rules that packpride had.

I think mandy just got older and moved on from message boards. Her and me had a late night detective session where we unravelled the ~anna story, where we found different aliases of her telling slightly different versions of the same sob stories about her supposed dead/ill/dying fiancee and his supposedly blind sister etc.

We identified some phrases she used a few times and were able to google the names she listed for these people and it all kind of unraveled as we found the story again and again, told by different aliases all over the internet. Anna lurked at IC for a while after that, but don't think she ever posted again. I would see her user name in th eonline poster list, and would occasionally message me to ask if I would delete some things people were posting.

Anna was a sad story, really. Not sure what went on in her young life but I'm guessing it wasn't good.

he actually had a "style" name this week in fact. "PointeStyle"

which makes me think he may have been another very old troll, pointingbone, who went after kik hard back in the day.

The only phrase I can think of that matches the longevity of the phrase "what we need is a good Old Fashioned Fing thread -- is the phrase "Ant news on Felton."

For those that don't know, the recruiting hype for a nobody 7'4" guy named Neil Fingleton hit a legendary and freakish level of interest. It was up there in the ranks of JR Reid and Ralph Sampson level of importance. The guy never did anything on the hardwood.

"Ant News about Felton" was from a rabid fan on pins and needles waiting for a commit from Raymond Felton. Of course he mistyped "Any." But he never changed the thread title which was active for months until we landed Ray.

These were all free basketball board threads. But the phrases remained in the lore of the ZZL for years.

I remember that quite well. In fact, I'm fairly certain I still have a picture of Anna somewhere. She posted on the BoB or a short time as well.

IAmBuckwheat and StageCoachDriver were the same person. As was JumpCatchDunk. I think that poster had at least one other name as well. The usernames were always three words put together with the first letter of each word capitalized.

Don’t forget the famous “keg of Brie.” There was a lot of staying power to that phrase.
