Cacti and jackrabbits live in rural Nevada. Most of the humans are old and gnarly. Nevada is the 2nd least rural state.
 


I don’t see Robinson getting only 31% of the vote even in the current state of affairs, but if it ever could happen to a major party candidate, I guess this is the one.

Milwaukee, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Philly, ATL, Phoenix, Vegas suburbs checking in.
 
At this point people are voting who they are going to vote for. I am done worrying. Either Kamala wins or I am done caring for the next 4 years. You either vote for democracy at this point or fuck you. We will see. I will either see you next Wednesday or you will never see me here again. Bye
 
10/29 NC Turnout data. UA (proportion) gaining rapidly on Dems, Republican turnout still leading overall. Black turnout still under the 11% 2020 difference (9.6% currently)

For reference, the voter registration levels have shifted to Unaffiliated since 2020, as well (whatever that means), so would expect a similar shift in turnout.

How in the hell have pubs added registered voters to the party while dems have lost registered voters?

HeelYeah reminds me somewhat of an older friend that used to post on the IC ZZL board. I never read the ZZL back then, but it seems that he must have had some verbal sparring with left leaning posters.

Like HeelYeah he had that strategy of voting D for NC governor but R for all federal offices. Before the days of Tea Party and MAGA he included me on a long right wing email list that always contained horseshit that would have not been received well on the ZZL. I would bite my tongue (not reply) email after email, because I suspected him of being a Pope operative and just wanted to monitor the disinformation. It was not unusual for there to be a Christian Nationalist slant to these emails.

One day I received one when in the right mood and replied to all with attached refuting articles (including one from Snopes). I received blistering replies from a few on the list with one saying he “did not give a god damn about Snopes.” So much for the Christian cloak.

I was immediately removed from the email list. I told this story to the head of the Democratic Party in Johnson City, and she replied that the same thing had happened to her previously.

So yes, willful ignorance appears to be a feature and not a bug.

Willful ignorance is exactly what it is. But the brainwashed can be deprogrammed under the right circumstances. Like the KKK kid Derek Black who had been groomed to be the next Grand Wizard leader who went to New College in Fla. Outside of the propaganda machine, and making new friends he came to understand and see the truth, the lies and hypocrisy. That is why the Right and DeSantis has been hell bent on destroying New College in particular. It’s retribution.
